Shocked by the Dr. Doyle haters! She is by far one of my most favourite profs! People tend to hate because they dislike SOCI. If you are interested in SOCI you will probably love Dr Doyle. She is fun, friendly, and INCREDIBLY helpful when you go to see her. She is very encouraging and sincerely loves good work from her students.

I've had Prof. Doyle twice, and she was an awesome prof. I came to Mount A originally to complete a degree in Psychology, but she made me fall for Sociology, and now it's my major. While Doyle is on sabatical, I'm hoping to take more classes with her next year.

Worst professor I have ever had. Seriously. She is very biased in marking. She treats the class like a high school class. Her miserable attempts to make class interesting just makes her look bad. I am leaving MTA because of her. Seriously. I would recommend not majoring in SOC just so you don't have to suffer through her miserable teaching. F-.

For a first year prof I didn't find her that great. I don't find she teaches well in big class rooms. Have talked to her outside the lecture room and she is very different. I think she would be better for high course levels and not intro to sociology

One day she has an accent, one day she doesn't? I can sum this one up in 1 word: RUDE She flipped out one day in class because someone was coughing. She felt it was ridiculous that people were sick in the first month of school. She will stop talking to tell ppl to be quiet.Someone needs to remind this lady that WE PAY HER..NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!

she doesnt try to be cool.She acts like shes out of touch, which she is. She doesnt just randomly swear, its only when its part of the lecture. Id probably like her more if I didn't completely hate the subject.

I love Dr. Doyle! She is so nice and helpful, she is so easy to work with and if you would all just grow up and stop being pissed because you don't do well enough in her classes. She is really smart and so what if she swears like most of you don't!

I didn't mind her swearing - it related to the lecture. It wasn't like she just randomly swore all the time. I found her interesting and I think I learned a lot from her.

Doyle used vulgar language in an attempt to impress her students. The only useful thing in that class was my textbook. There were no real notes to take because she spent most of the time engaged in meaningless chatter with her students and inventing new uses for the F-word. Her fake British accent is annoying. I could go on, but I am out of space.

Swearing does nothing for me, and her demeanor is generally annoying. She usually provides a rather skewed analysis of issues, more reliance on actual data would be nice. She was clear and organized. Better than watching the Sneeches, which Steuter wasted our time with. To be fair however, sociology isn't a real field of study.

She is a unique lady with an equally unique accent. She's crisp and to the point. She's a fair marker. However, she tries too hard to impress her students by swearing, etc.

DONT DO IT! Doyle thinks she is the best there ever was and it shows. Her lectures lack in valuble lessons and someone needs to tell her that using the "F" word doesnt make her "COOL"!

She is an ambitious prof, who values student input, however expects alot of time-consuming work to be done...which can be difficult to stay on top of things while taking other courses. Definately a good addition to the sociology department!
