Comment:

I didn't really admire this professors teaching skills. HOWEVER, I am glad I took her class for Calculus II (apparently the hardest of the calculuses) because it requires little effort to get a good grade (she gives extra credit often and quiz grades rarely change your grade). Do your homework and show up and you will be fine.

Comment:

Lots of work outside of class. If you do and understand all of it, you should be fine on tests. She gives extra credit review packets before tests. No curve balls on the tests. She is awkward, so class isn't fun, but she explains concepts pretty well. She goes over problems that she knows will cause issues in homework.

I loved Dr. Rainbolt for Calc 2. She is a little boring but if you pay attention she is an excellent teacher. The tests can be a little tough but it was also Calc 2 so. Overall, definitely recommend her for any math class you have.

Comment:

Rainbolt was one of my favorite teachers. She was very clear cut and presented the material in a simple way. There was a lot of work outside of class like Webwork on top of the bookwork, but that is what made it so understandable. Also, she is always there to help. You email her your problem and she explains it back. 10/10 would recommend.

I would never take a class with this professor ever again. Had the absolute worst time in this class and found no help outside of it either. She was not understanding or clear in her lectures and just seemed to spit out all of these ideas during class without actually explaining anything. Dr. Rainbolt is a good teacher. She really wants you to understand the material well. This is essentially a graduate level class though math majors take it as undergrads, so you should expect to dedicate a lot of time to it. Work hard, and you will do well. Weekly homework assignments are long, but helpful. In the end, you really know your stuff.

Poster child for introversion. Nervous, awkward and slightly strange in front of a group of people. Gets frustrated easily. Not a performer. *However*, if you keep this in mind and talk to her outside of class, she's very friendly, approachable and helpful. Lectures are clear, homework is helpful, tests are reasonable.

Avoid this idiot at all costs. I did fine in the class but she was still the worst prof i've ever had. I can't believe she is actually a prof at a university. I had to teach myself EVERYTHING and if you are not one of those people (which i really am not) then dont take her. She is also has the personality of a door knob. Horrible

Ill be completely honest...i taught myself most of the stuff. i did the assigned homework everynight and if i didnt get something i asked her in class the next day and she would do it on the board. i got an A and sat in the back and did nothing. but i did the hw and studied and taught myself. thats the hard part. dont miss more than 3 classes.

Dr. Rainbolt is the worst professor I have ever had. You would think that she just started teaching yesterday. She can't explain anything. She is defensive when asked questions in class; so don't even bother with your questions. She pretends that she is smarter than everyone in the class and berates her students when they ask questions.

I'm not sure why/how she's been teaching as long as she has... she's probably the worst math instructor I've experienced, and I love math - she made me hate it. She gets irritated when you ask questions, and you can tell she's so nervous/awkward at the front of the room. Avoid her classes if possible. Good person, terrible teacher!

Socially awkward, I think my knowledge of mathematics decreased while in the class. VERY EASY. She laughs nervously at the chalkboard for no apparent reason. I often got the feeling she had no idea what she was talking about.

Not my favorite class. It was pretty easy, but I think that it was due to my previous calc background. She spends too much time explaining easy stuff and not enough time teaching harder stuff. Her explanations are awkward and drawn-out and she seems uneasy and strange when teaching students. Quizzes are every Friday and homework is graded.

Terrible teacher. She took forever to explain how to find the perimeter of something and then couldn't explain anything that was actually a difficult concept. As someone who had no previous calculus experience, I didn't learn anything. She was socially awkward and seemed scared of students in general. Don't take this class!

Awful teacher, boring, knew more calculus before I took her, teaches basic easy stuff in class then runs out of time to teach you the more difficult material. Yelled at us because she was 10 minutes over and we tried to leave. No respect for her at all.
