Comment:

Coming into this class, I was iffy about Professor Taba but he ended up being a very good teacher who cares about his students and wants to see them succeed. Strict phone policy, exams are very much like practice exams, pay attention, attend class and youll pass the class.

Comment:

He isn't a bad teacher, he does help if you ask, but he just reads slides. Be ready for a lot of homework that eventually doesn't reflect any of the tests. A heavy emphasis on graphs, if the class attendance is low beware of a pop quiz, and ask questions about anything you don't understand. Consider another professor, please.

Professor Taba wants his students to succeed! He does however make you work for it. There is a strict no phone in class policy, he usually gives you a few warnings. If he sees you phone out again he takes a full 10% off your final grade!!! Definitely dont take your phone out in front of him on a bad day, I have seen him kick people out.

Comment:

Professor Taba is a very caring and funny person. That being said, I had a very difficult time in his class. His lectures are not extensive enough to really make each subject clear and memorable. I felt like I had to teach myself a lot of the time because time in class only really skimmed the surface. Don't take if you struggle with math.

Comment:

Mr. Taba is a very caring person, he will make time to explain the problems for you. He uses the book and project it online, will show you an example from the book, explain it and let you do a practice problem. Will help you with problems on test day if you stay long enough, he walks around to people and give hints. Definitely take this guy!!

I took professor Khalil for Math 30 in the summer. It was a 4-week class which should've been hard, but he helped us out a lot. He would give us almost identical practice exams, and a lot of HW which is understandable for a 4-week class. I passed with a B and would definitely take a class with him again if I could.

I have no idea what Prof. Taba was like in the previous years, but here's what I learned. He is a good instructor, who knows the material well. He will help clarify anything if you ask politely. He will also joke around if you're not rude. He doesn't like being disrespected. Just do the work and pay attention. Don't be that kid texting or talking.

Professor Taba is extremely nice. He wants you to pass and succeed but if you're mathematically challenged like I am, it's hard to do well. He likes you to ask questions but doesn't explain answers well. HW for every section due on exam day. Quizzes and extra credit help however, I was totally lost half way thru the semester.

You need to attend class, and you need to do your homework. He leaves homework for every chapter you see. He will also give you some extra credit problems to level up your grade. He likes you to ask questions and be involved. Tests are not hard if you have been doing your work. Takes assistance every day.

Although this professor's a little hard to understand, this class is a must take for the mathematically challenged. Do all the extra credit homework, and the practice tests he gives you online. If you put in the work you will pass!

He is not very nice and has a very heavy accent so it was really hard to understand the material that he was trying to teach. Assigns homework but doesn't collect it daily. Collects it on test days. Mainly will just do examples instead of actually teaching you the steps on how to solve a problem. He can be nice when he isn't yelling at people.

Professor Taba is one of the greatest math professors I've ever had! Was aiming for a C but got an A!! Go to class, ask questions, at least looks like you're trying and he will give you an A! Extra credit too if you go to class and ask him about it! HIGHLY RECCOMEND IF MATH ISN'T YOUR STRENGTH!!!!

He's quite hard to understand... Sometimes he would teach us the complete wrong thing and then go back and reteach it to us... He's helpful if you ask him and he does so extra credit... If you're not the best at math I dont reccomend taking this class.... The class had about 60-70 kids and by finals week there were only like 10-15 kids in the class

I was really nervous to take a class with this professor because of all the previous ratings, but now that I am in the class I realized that they were all wrong. He is difficult to understand but he will stop and clairfy anything. Tests are hard but if you stay after everyone has left he will help you with the test questions! TAKE HIM!!!!

Teacher literally pushed a student ON TEST DAY. very disrespectful and i could barely understand him. HORRIBLE TEACHER! DO NOT RECOMMEND ATTENDING ONE OF HIS CLASSES.

I read this comments about Mr. Taba and I think most people dislike him just because he is "the math teacher". Unfortunately, it is not his fault we did not learn the basics in high school. Mr Taba is a very nice, helpful, patient and dedicated teacher. I respect him and recommend him. Just do you part and you will pass the class: Study and HW.

Wow where do I start? This professor is incredibly condescending, rude, moody,and always seems like teaching is a chore. Hard to understand what he is saying most of the time and when you DO understand him he doesn't seem to make it simple and detailed. I have learned absolutely nothing during his lectures and relied on my online section.

Overall he has an impatient type of attitude. He hates repeating the same answer and will call you on it in a deemining kind of way. He mentioned to us in a tiring kind of way and in the beginning of the class,"that this might be his last class". I felt that it was not necessary to express that to the students.

Really a nightmare of a teacher, clearly did not want to be teaching, and had a very bad attitude. If you can't find any other teacher, maybe you should take him, but its all on you to understand, and try to keep your distance from him so you don't end up getting on his bad side, although you may not be able to help it. Overall very poor teacher.

I would highly dissuade any prospective student from taking this Professor Taba. The teacher was highly disorganized, unstable, moody, condescending, hostile, unhelpful, made many mistakes, spoke English poorly, was uncivil and easily provoked and egotistical many times, and went out of his way to undermine the students on multiple occasions.
