B student and got an A. How? You have to know EVERY single thing on his study guide & notes. Write it ALL out. Use google too. It takes time to learn but once you know that you know it, his tests are very easy. He will give answer choices: stapes vs stapedius and round vs. oval window. If you don't know those tiny differences the exam will be tough

Professor Bakker is very sweet and knowledgeable but his class is lecture heavy, and he is very slow and monotone with his teaching. The only grades are from the exams, so if you dont know the material on the exams you definitely wont pass. But if you study the chapters and know the material, his exams are pretty straightforward!

Bakker is a nice man, but he is NOT a good professor. If youre AuD like me, you will not like this class one bit. Unless youre super smart, you will get a C or below on the first test. He has 5 tests. His lectures are very stale and I always leave his class not understanding anything. Basically, get ready to teach yourself through Quizlet!

Professor Bakker is honestly such a great teacher. His lectures can be kind of dry, but he never goes off on crazy tangents or spends time lecturing over things that won't be on the test. His classes are tough, but definitely not impossible if you study a little bit each week. He is also more than happy to meet with you during office hours!!

I am an A- student and I will be luckily to receive a C- in this course. It is extremely difficult. You only have 3 exams for points. If you do bad on one exam, you are pretty well screwed. The exams are also worded difficult. I would highly suggest trying to take this course in the summer by itself.

I have had him for two previous classes now, and all I can say is that I get a letter grade lower than all my other classes every time. He just gives a few tests, and if you don't do well on one, it really hurts you grade wise. He is hard to follow many times and you zone out. He will put a tiny detail, while skipping important portions on the test

Dr. Bakker is really nice but can be very dry/monotone and it can be difficult to pay attention during lecture, especially in morning classes. There is a lot of material to cover for each exam so don't procrastinate studying!

Dr. Bakker is very smart and knows the material. His class is very lecture heavy and the material can often be boring, but his tests are based off of his lectures. I found the book to be very helpful in clarifying information from class. This class has only 5 tests, but he curved almost every test score.

Very intelligent and knowledgeable man. If you pay attention and put in the effort necessary, you will do well in his class. If you're looking for a class you skate in and don't plan to actually benefit from the material covered, I'd look elsewhere. His classes are designed in a way that forces you to actually learn if you want to be successful.

5 tests which are the only grades in the class. Some of the tests are difficult, you should definitely study for them. Bakker is a thorough professor, and though dry at times, he is knowledgable and answers questions to his best ability. He is effective if you listen and put forward effort.

Wish he gave EC. Really not that hard. Bakker is really nice and if you listen in class and take good notes, you'll pass. Never tests over anything he didn't talk about in class so I only used book when I needed clarification on certain things. Only 2/5 tests were kinda difficult. Other 3 were easy. First test is one of the harder ones so study!!

Dr. Bakker is very knowledgeable. I was nervous b.c I heard this class was hard, but it wasn't bad at all. Just study his lectures, don't skip over anything, and you'll be fine. The only grades in the class are 5 unit tests - no final. I used the textbook occasionally but you really don't need it because his tests are based on lecture.

Dr. Bakker is very knowledgeable and I would take him again. The lectures were somewhat dry but I think its just because the material in this class is boring. STUDY STUDY STUDY the only grades are tests!

Loved Dr. Bakker, hated the class. Set up horribly: 3 tests (50 questions each) and no other assignments. Study guides are worthless. I don't feel like the amount of time I put into this class is reflected in my grade at all.

You have to study for this class. He doesn't take attendance and you don't necessarily need to be there because you will practically teach yourself the material. But I am reflecting over the class and wishing I would've payed more attention because I understand NOTHING. Currently have a 75 need an 85 on final for a B. HARD class :(

Reads from lecture slides, we cover a vast amount of material in a little amount of time. Tests are difficult to study for because there is so much material with no way of knowing what to look over more in depth

CSD 216 - requires a lot of studying. You do not need the book to get an A but I did find the study guides helpful. You are going to want to go into this class with the idea that you will need to put a lot of time into it to get a good grade. No extra credit or HW assignments. All test points. The last two test are his easiest.
