Comment:

One of the best teachers I had. His explanations are clear, his class is not soporific, he clearly knows what he's talking about and is happy to help. I wish I could thank him in person.

Comment:

Don't have to show up for class! Topyan is a good professor who gives good examples and is always willing to help outside of class. He gives big curves, however there is only a midterm and final so you have to study. Tests are not too difficult, either. If you put in some work before the midterm and final, you will get an A.

Comment:

Dr. Topyan loves to talk about himself, and he finds a way to do so at least once a class. He is very smart and knows his stuff. He gives great examples to help understand what he is saying. All homework was online and there was one midterm and one final exam both exclusively multiple choice which could be deceivingly tough. Oh, don't leave class.

He's a very good professor. I took him for econometrics 1 at Hunter College. I've had many professor's try and explain the concepts behind econometrics to me and thus far he has been the clearest. Very nice guy and funny. Definitely recommend him.

Topyan is trying his best to a bunch of idiots. I feel sorry about this guy. He is desperately trying to find a way to communicate with the the students who do not care. He is too intelligent for his own good. He should teach in a much better school to satisfy himself. Best professor I ever had! I will miss him.

Comment:

Topyan is a great guy, and he gives TONS of opportunities to increase your grade. Tests have extra questions, and he only makes you do some. He offers extra credit. Lectures are usually worthless, but as long as you read the book and do the optional homework, then the tests are EASY. And he's always helpful in his office hours.

Not a bad guy. Classes are very boreing and continually revirews old topics. Huge curves on the tests since everyone did so badly. Not bad though. Would recomend if you need this course.

Comment:

He requires minimum level of intelligence, so deadheads do not like him. Cool guy. Excellent knowledge on economics and finance. Most useful chirperson I have seen. He really helps everyone to solve the problems as a chair, and as faculty who is always clear in comments. If you do not study, you will not understand his lectures well.

One of the best FIN professors at Manhattan! With little study, it is not at all hard to get at least a B and he is fine with students being absent or coming in late. Very helpful (with questions and grading) if you go to his office. Great guy to talk with and always has a good joke or two!
