Comment:

Overall hes a really good professor. Is always available to help if you are confused. If you study and read the textbook you will be fine. Class is extremely exam heavy (80%) but they are not horrible if you pay attention or watch course captures.

Great/excellent teacher, exams are tough but you must put in the work to start studying for them preferably a week before, make sure you look at the past exams because format is the same/very similar! Work out the problems on the exams like he does in lecture and he will award a lot of partial credit, TAs are nice so go to office hours for help!

Comment:

Prof Leonard is a good guy, no doubt, but he is just not good at teaching at all. He has the magic to make you be confused to the knowledge that you even knew before. I do not think that he knows how to teach. The whole class is just about confusing. The average of two exams are both about 60.

Comment:

While a lot of the students seem to despise the poor guy, Cimini really does care about all of his students. He is a very busy guy, but he is always willing to go the extra mile for his students who ask for help. If you find yourself hating this very likable guy, it might be time to consider switching out of the college of engineering.

3 exams and a final, the HW is tedious. He teaches directly from the book. The exams are very similar to the sample exams. He gives lots of partial credit if you understand the concept but have a hard time with the math. READ THE BOOK and you will do well.

Dr. Cimini is a really nice guy, but he seems to have trouble teaching to a large class. The class is mostly CPEG/ELEG and BMEG students. Personally, as a BMEG, I would have preferred a separate lecture for just us. Exams are hard (a low-mid 50s avg) and homework is tedious but helpful prep for exams. Class curved to a B-/C+ avg. Mod hard class.

Homework out of the book, two Matlab projects, 3 exams, and a final. He gives lots of partial credit and even a few extra credit opportunities. He curves the class to a B-/C+ average at the end but that's necessary. Watch out for exam 2 and use practice exams as your primary way to study bc he doesn't change the questions that much if at all

Teaches and gives homework directly from the book. Very nice guy. Writes very fast on the board so it can be hard to understand the material as he's teaching it. DO NOT COPY from the answer from the back of the book. You will not get any credit if you do.

Dr. Cimini uses the textbook more than any other professor I've had. While class isn't always the most helpful, he is really great in office hours. If you show some initiative Cimini will go to any length to help you understand the material. Really good professor overall!

It's lucky Cimini teaches straight from the textbook, because I couldn't tear my eyes away from his gorgeous self long enough to listen. The way he keeps the front of his t-shirt carefully tucked in... the fact that he's always covered in chalk... the man is like a Greek god.

Cemini teaches by the textbook. He does many examples from the textbook and assigns homework from it. The textbook is somewhat dense but at least you have a solid reference to go back to. If you know how to do the homework and the practice tests, the exams are the same format. Overall, this guy knows his stuff; he practically invented wifi.

Cimini's inadvertant tragic personality seals the deal as far as awesome personalities go. He'll tell you how terrible the class is at math with a smile and then wind off into how we probably dont care and he isnt making a lick of difference. If you have any Italian relatives from Philly, you know the type. Fantastic guy.

The class is required so you get whoever is teaching it. My only advice for taking a class with Cimini is this: If heasks you how to do a transform of a function do not refernece matlab. If you do then he will call you matlab for the rest of your life like he has done to me. Just remember to always use the properties and you will be fine.

Big guy from wireless comm. industry. Excellent teacher. Extremely helpful notes and HW assignments. The kind of experienced professional you should always meet before starting your career.
