She was very lecture heavy without actually teaching anything. She is very homework heavy, assigning a critical review for every class period. I do not fee like I learned anything new from her class. If you show up and write the papers on time, you should be able to pass easily.

Students are required to write a one page paper for every class analyzing the reading for that day. These papers were never fully explained and most of the class still doesn't know what they were supposed to be.

I will never forget the lyric poetry class that I took with Prof. Miller in grad school. I was experiencing health problems at the time, and that class was one of the only things I was able to feel excited about. She was very understanding, and I could tell that she was genuinely worried about my health. A lovely course and a lovely person.

I would not recommend her. The papers we were told to write were not regular papers, they were strange concepts and she is very unhelpful if you aren't a strong writer. Didn't help at all with thesis statements. The entire class was depicting the stories, so no emphasis on how to write a paper better. Horrible.

I loved her and I loved her class! Yes shes lecture heavy and it can get a little boring, but the class is very fun and I loved it and wrote some really great stuff in the class! Shes caring and wants you to explore your style of writing. If you do the homework and youre engaged in workshops youll do great.

Here's the thing about Dr. Miller: If you're an english major or a writer you'll love her. IMO, the freshmen who take her ENG 121 class don't appreciate her. If you are taking creative writing, TAKE HER. She is an accomplished writer who gives amazing constructive feedback.

Dr. Miller is clearly knowledgeable in her subject. However, she expects a lot of analysis from students who don't necessarily have the tools to do that. I have no trouble with writing papers personally, but my toolbox hasn't been expanded in her class to write better analysis of literature. It's not that hard unless you procrastinate on papers.

My dog could teach this class that's how pointless it is. She is an awful teacher who does not have a syllabus so you have no clue what anything is worth in the class. For an English class we only do poetry, not one book. There is a paper due for every class. It is so insanely boring that it's truly a shame attendance is mandatory. Not an easy A.

Okay, she's a sweet lady, but she's a tough grader. Lots of "mini" assignments for each class period. Almost impossible to get an "A". Be prepared to share what you wrote. She makes everyone in the class share their analysis. She expects a lot out of the students even in this basic level course. Doesn't put things in the grade book till finals.

Not the best teacher and not very interesting class periods. Have to write a one page Critical Reading paper for every class. She's a tough grader. What got you an "A" in high school certainly won't get you one in her class. Go see her in office hours if you need help with your major papers. 4 papers this semester, all literary analysis. No tests.

Shes the kind of person you want as a grandma, not as a professor. Nice lady, but she picks favorites from the beginning and if you arent one of those you better buckle up for a rough semester.

Miller is NOT an easy A. Hard essay grader, lots of reading, regular writing assignments and tough papers. Attendance required but lectures not really helpful. If you are into English and are willing to work hard, you will learn a lot from her. She's nicer in one on one sessions than in class.

Very poor professor. Her lectures are long, has unclear grading criteria, and expects high amounts of proficiency early on. You will know your grade at midterm and at the end, she provides no other grading feedback throughout the course. I came in very prepared from previous English classes I took and still struggled greatly.

Not thrilled with this class or the professor. She was nice but not very creative. She pretty much stuck to the basics, which I guess is what the class is about, but wasn't interested in having an open discussion. Most of the time she asked us questions, she wouldn't let us actually express our opinions. She was just looking for the "right" answer.

Dr. Miller doesn't give clear grading criteria, and she doesn't enter any grades at all into Blackboard--she gave us little to no feedback until our midterm grade. Luckily I was doing well, but if I hadn't, I could have gone half the semester and had no idea. She doesn't seem to have a good sense of how long her assignments will take.

She's an extremely tough grader, considering mainly freshmen take this course. She expects a lot out of her students, but makes time for them. You just have to come to her. You have to be extremely dedicated if you want to do well in this course. I would say non-english majors look for another teacher because you might no do well.

I learned a lot but worked a lot. This class is tough and a ton of work but can be rewarding. She offers no sympathy if you are a poor writer or have a bad illness. Don't take this class unless 100% committed because it is non- stop work and has several papers on difficult subjects. Leslie is nice if you talk to her, just has low tolerance 4 crap

you will not do well in her class if she doesn't like your writing style, which is ridiculous. I am a good writer but not a poet, therefore she hates me even though I work hard in her class
