He very clear cut on what he wants from you. He doesn't try to surprise you. He has three tests and a final with quizzes every week. The quizzes are all open notebook and they help prepare you for the tests which is also open note. Homework is not apart of your grade so he doesn't check to see if you did it. But trust me doing the hw will help

Butch is a good man. Talks about golf a lot, but relates it to statistics. He is good at explaining the subject. If you pay attention, do all the work/quizzes and learn the TI-84 well, you will get an A.

I am so glad I took this class with Butch.This is a tough topic, but he gives you everything you need to do well. You are told exactly what will be on the tests so there are no surprises.Study hard and you will do well! I was really intimidated by him at first, but went to office hours before class an he is kind, wonderful, and wants you to succeed

Not an easy A, but a very doable A if you put the effort in. I read each chapter based on the pages he recommended we read. I did the hw up to chapter 6 and stopped doing it because it wasent mandatory and reading the chapter and paying attention in class is enough. Got a B on the first test but ended up with a 98% in the class. Just apply yourself

I never opened my textbook and I passed with a B. Most of this was a review for me, so it was easy. The stuff that I had never learned however I did not understand because he just did not explain it well enough. 5 point quizes every day. homework is not mandatory.

First math teacher I have loved! He changed every perception I had on math and testing! Super chill, reasonable, lets you use some notes and explains things in a totally comprehensible way! Great guy and I highly recommend him! I will be taking his Stats class next.

homework is easy. one day i forgot my calculator and we had a test and i asked him if i could borrow his. he thought about it, looked at the calculator he wasn't using, then basically told me "too bad", so i failed. (yes, i should have been prepared, but still). cancels class a lot which isn't cool.

good stats teacher... talk like you like golf or basketball and he will like you. Just do your homework and you are set. He lets you use notes on quizzes and tests. He is easy to negotiate with too.

Butch is a nice enough guy, but just wasnt made for teaching. He doesnt explain anything and basically expects you to teach your self out of the book. He is very unclear, and doesnt answer questions. lets u use notes on tests and drops some too, prob because no one would pass otherwise.

This could be one of the worst teachers at city college. He is way too boring and doesn't show any desire to teach or help. It is difficult to get an 'A" but easy to pass the class. I wouldn't recommend this teacher.

By far my favorite math teacher! Does not assign a lot of homework, lets you use notes on tests, and teaches well. He is pretty funny and very laid back! Definately take stats with this man!
