Dr Henry was my Humanities professor and we got along, but that didn't change her grading style. She had us write an in class essay and was extremely vague about the prompt. Then she marked down points for spelling, grammar, content, everything she could think of. Unless you want to spend hours in her office discussing your work, avoid her

I had Dr. Henry for Humanities and she's a nice lady. BUT her class is too hard. She assigns several readings, mostly plays, & expects students to know specifics from each reading. Her exams are short answer and unclear. She's not consistent with what's on the exams and what we cover for review & there are no study guides. Honestly, save the stress

Nice lady, terrible teacher. Boring classes that consisted of us reading whatever she had assigned us to read for homework. Never taught us how to write an essay the way SHE wanted us to, never handed back any grades. We didnt get a syllabus until 2 months into class, and we were ill-prepared for every test/paper. Save yourself, don't take her.

This class shouldn't be that hard, but Professor Henry consistently goes off topic (we didn't finish the one 400 page book we were to read this semester), is very ambiguous and unclear as to what she wants out of assignments, and is very late at returning things (had four assignments this semester, only got back one of them). Avoid if you can.

Avoid. All she talks about is Civil War history. She also assigns a ton of readings (like more than 15). The readings are long. Her tests are almost solely on historical comprehension, not writing strategies or anything related. It ought to be a history course. She is unorganized. We did not get a syllabus for 2 months. Don't take her. AVOID.

I can deal with the lateness, absence, and even difficult grading. It's the last min assignment prompts and unclear expectations that irritate me. It's impossible to write a paper if you don't know what you're expected to do.

Come to her office hours. See her comments on your papers. Nothing helps, she is so vague. Master everything and when writing papers, leave nothing to chance. Your best hopes are a B, and consider yourself very intelligent if you get an A (which most of us deserved in the first place)

Stay far away from this lady! She is a terribly hard grader and very disorganized. She is extremely unclear in what she expects. This is the only class I got a B in, ruining my perfect 4.0 I would have earned otherwise. Not to mention that I busted my butt in this class all semester! :(

Don't do it to yourself. Esp if you are just trying to fufill a divisional requirement, it's simply not worth it. I took her for Humanities II. Even if you do read the novels and come to class everyday, if you can't write in a perfect MLA format you are going to fail.

Do not take this TEACHER! take heed to other comments below! I withdrew but the majority meaning 99.9 percent of people in my class received a C-. She is a ridiculously hard grader. She cant even right how well she wants her students to produce and she is always late to class! Says she understands and she doesn't and ver unorganized

I love to write and her class pushed me to not be lenient on spell and grammar check we really evaluated the books we read including Beloved and Sundiata which have stayed with me since I graduated.The class is not easy and I stated my opinion in my work and received one of very few "A's" in the class but I must admit she does have a monotone voice

just say no! her voice is very slow and will put you to sleep. she is unclear in what she expects of you...doesnt teach grammar, yet grades on it. you wont get anything back for a very long time. she is unreliable. show up to class! a lot of reading essays which was fine. but overall just no if you have another choice!

She is very critical of every paper you write. Coming into her class I had confidence when it came to my writing skills, only to be criticized almost 95% of my essays. She's always late, cancel class and says she's been to every state in the U.S. But if you miss one day then it's a problem. She also uses the word "THEN" a lot! DON'T TAKE HER!

If you can avoid her please do. If you are nota really strong writer and agree with her 100% of the time don't expect an A. She's a tough professor.I was in the hositpal for 2 weeks had a doctors note and she failed me anyway. AVOID HER!!!!!

Comment:

Don't take if you have other options. Class is not very difficult if you can write very well quickly. All but 1 essay were written in class. She grades grammar and content like you had the same time to write as in a take home essay. Finally, the key to an A = agree with her views in your writing, the key to an F = disagree with her.
