I absolutely love Dr. Rhodes! Shes very caring and sweet. Shes a very lenient grader and she gives great feedback! I love how she allows you to revise papers after giving feedback. I think everyone should take her class!

Comment:

I was very bored during this class and I do not believe that it should be titled Advanced Composition the way she teaches it. The professor had the chance to help us develop as writers and instead we sat through lecture after lecture. Instead of grades you will get smiles and check marks on your papers only to get your real grade at the end.

So, you'll learn a lot about her. .her garden(ing club) & her relationship with the authors. She has an assigned reading for every week, the reading isn't bad, and a discussion board. Half of the time you won't actually discuss it but you have to do the dbs! SN: I'm not sure where the final grade comes from as you don't get a grade until the end!

Big tip,you want an A or just a good grade in general make sure to spend time with her in her office and speaking to her inside the classroom. oh and make sure to attend the writing room regularly. lectures are long and she's not clear on what she wants. Also,attendance is a must. You also may want to go ahead and have about 3 drafts of each paper.

Her class is one of the HARDEST things I've taken! Ever! It almost killed me! I have to work so freaking hard, visited the writing room like almost every weekday and still end up having an unsatisfied grade. Please if you do have consciousness, do not take her class and run away from her!

As a dual enrolled student, Dr. Rhodes was the perfect introduction to college. We only had 4 writing assignments, she gives rubrics for each, lets you revise several times, is more than willing to set up out of class meetings, and your final is a portfolio. Perfect bridge between high school and college writing and I wish she taught 102.

Dr. Rhodes is super sweet! but you literally sit in her class the whole time listening to her lecture on the same topic, which is fine if you like long lectures! for me, I'm more on doing work inside of the class room and getting some feedback right there. She's not very specific on what it is you need to do so its almost like a guessing game.

Dr. Rhodes was super sweet. We only had 4 papers throughout the semester. Im awful at writing but she did give a lot of good feed back and you could rewrite your papers as many times as you wanted to. Her class is nothing but long long lecture. The ending exam was just an ending portfolio with all of your work in it! Take notes! EASY CLASS!

She had a great attitude and was very forgiving. She was very cheery. I turned in most of my assignments late and didn't get any punishment for it. There are a lot of assignments but she was VERY HELPFUL. I thought I was hopeless as a writer and she taught me that I could actually improve at writing and that I had hope. Take her class at all cost

The most unclear professor I have ever had. She never fully explains a topic and she gives pointless papers. Her class honestly made me hate English. Please avoid her at all costs.

Dr. Rhodes is great. She lets you revise EVERYTHING, even the exams. How you could make less than an A in this class is beyond me. Plus, her constant feedback throughout the semester is really helpful for your writing. We had a handful of class periods where we'd turn something in and walk right back out, which is always a bonus.

I HATED THAT class. even though we sat at computer all class it started to get bored because she would talk. she fail me after all that hard work i did on that stupid writing portfolio at the end of the semester. so if you take her know what to expect when you write you junior writing portfolio because she EXPECTS EVERYTHING TO PERFECT AND CITED.
