Prof. Heung is one of the best professors at Baruch. Very helpful to improve your writing. Please take her if you prepare to work hard and want to improve writing. She expects her students to be good writers. Don't take if you only care your grade.

I've had her for Film History 1 and 2. Not the easiest professor and tough on writing. I struggled through her classes but I'm a much better writer now, largely due to Prof. Heung. Don't take her class if you expect and easy A, but because you love film and are willing to learn something!

I'm so tired of reading complaints on this site about students who got bad grades, then I take the class and get an A. I realized that everyone that complains on this site is just lazy that wants an easy grade. This is not High School, it's COLLEGE.Prof. Heung is not only capable, but exemplary, other profs at Baruch should follow her example.

Anyone who takes this professor and complains about their grade, is simply because they were not properly taught how to write a paper. By the time you take her class, you should have taken the appropriate classes. If you get marked low, you should be angry at your old professors for not teaching well.

I didn't understand why my papers had so much red ink corrections when I got them back and why after receiving B's and A's in English classes my whole life I was getting a D until I found out she also taught English. She alos wrote that I knew the films well but my grammar was not!? ITS A FILM CLASS and in an Eng class they would have been B papers

Dont take this class if you're going to slack off and not do your work and expect an A. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. She's a wonderful teacher, actually, first English teacher at Baruch that actually teaches. She's strict on grammar, but if you put in your work and try to learn, she gives you credit. Read the text, do quizes, participate & you'll do fine!

A good professor but a very hard grader. She's a grammar maniac, doesn't care if your paper content is great but would deduct major points for some grammar mistakes. I wouldn't take her for GPA booster but her strictness did help me a bunch.

She is a good professor, but a very tough grader. She WILL NOT give you full points even if the answer is great. Also, she is very strict on paper grammer(as she also teaches english) come on ! give your students a break. and she can be quite stubborn sometimes

Lots and lots of reading, quizes, and lots of papers to write. no matter how hard you try cannot get more than a B..hard grader on papers.takes points off for stupid little mistake.Think twice before you take her. :-(

she grades your papers very harshly, the quizzes are easy but if you want to maintain your GPA, dont take her. (It was not just me it was my whole class who agreed that she was very harsh on papers). she is sweet but not the right kinda challenge for me...
