Not worth it! Pretty easy class, as he tells you everything that's going to be on the test. Way old English guy who can't teach in the 21st century. Horribly boring. Have to go to class and take good notes just from what he says. Overall, DON'T TAKE.

He's an okay professor. Tests aren't that hard. give you a study guide before the test. Its the kind of class that you can either go to class and take notes or read the textbook, you don't really have to do both. He is a very liberal professor, so keep that in mind when he starts on a tangent about politics, etc.

I would say that Dr. Friedberger is an overall great teacher. If you have to have organized notes to study for tests, I wouldn't recommend taking his class; he writes minimally on the board and just uses lecture to teach you the material. The tests start out hard but get easier as you go. He is a funny guy but only if you pay attention in class.

I had him for U.S. History to 1877. Great teacher, really knows his stuff! He's from the UK so he has some funny phrases. You could almost read the book and not go to class or the other way around. Always go a week before tests- he hands out the study guide (literally is the test...just duplicate it). Always go the day before a test.

Easy class, make sure you go to class and take good notes. Not too much reading from the textbook but you have to read a novel for each test. However, if you go to class and listen to the discussion about the novel you can get by without reading it. A super easy class, definitely take him for US history after 1877

A really cool guy, especially if you show interest and ask questions outside of class. Lots of reading, but its mostly novels and not textbook material. First test was fairly hard, but the others are easier.

Make sure you go to class. I took 3 pages of notes a day. Tests arn't really that hard if you read and take good notes. Write alot in the blue book.. he will give you a higher score.. His accent makes him interesting. He has some pretty unexpected comments that make the class entertaining. He randomly cusses haha

Lots of reading. First two tests were difficult, but the last two were easy because they were all essay. He gives you a study guide beforehand, which makes studying a bit easier since he gives so much information during lecture. I had a B average, but made an A on the final and got an A in the class. Definitely a class worth taking.

His tests are stupid. He emphasizes quantity over quality. As long as you fill the entire blue book for an essay you are fine. It can get frustrating. If you make, for example, 8 valid points but only take up 3 pages but make 4 valid points and take up the whole blue book, the latter will score much better. Be prepared to read a lot.

Easy class, great professor. Funny in a dry way and his accent makes it awesome. Kind of boring and basic material, but he gives you the test questions beforehand, so if you do bad it's just because you didn't care enough to study. Definitely take for an easy history class with a funny, really nice guy.

Somewhat dull but fairly easy class. He gives you the test essay questions before the test, so it's really your fault if you do bad on tests. Bring your laptop to class because you will take a ton of notes and he doesn't do powerpoints. He's a nice guy and you don't have any papers or homework except to read.

At first I thought it would be diffcult since the first test I didn't do so hot. But I learned he grades on effort and progression. Also if you go up to him about your test and you have a borderline grade, he will give you some extra points. He likes to just kinda throw those out there. Which is very very nice. I recommend him.

lecture only but then tests aren't only on notes so it makes them difficult, but does gives good reviews so study that and you'll be fine, but do well on tests because that is the only grade.

British. He started the class saying "My wife just died so don't smoke." He was a tad boring but the class was easy enough. If you can write a good essay you'll soar. Read the books he assigns!

Use the study sheets!! He is an odd duck but the class is straight forward if you show up for class. Hated the first two tests but the last ones were easier (essay format and you know in advance what they are on). I hate history but this class wasn't too bad at all.

I love Friedburger. What other professor can stand up in front of the class and ramble on about how Bush doesn't know his history and that is why he's doing a poor job running this country, come on seriously. Take good notes and you'll have the test essays. He is kind of boring sometimes but what history professor isn't.
