She is really passionate about what she does and always responds to emails fast. The class is easy you just have to do weekly discussion posts, AP style quizzes, and module quizzes. Then one group project during the semester.

SHE IS THE BEST!! The most caring professor ever. The class is easy, but quiz heavy. Attendance mandatory, every week there is module quiz or AP style quiz. One group project, very easy not a big deal. Just a very fun, entertaining class!! Best teacher1

This class was not hard. The reviews make her harder than she is. You have 7 module tests and she drops your lowest module. You also have AP style quizzes that are the hardest thing in this class. Then you have a group project but its super easy. Really easy class! Only get the online text to help you with module tests don't get hard copy as well.

After reading some of the reviews other students have written I don't have much left to say except I AGREE, hard grader, not clear when it comes to assignments and if you don't understand she is not sorry. Good luck to her future students!

Do not take this course with Perkins!!! Hardest class I've ever taken because she requires SO much work outside of the classroom. There are zero guidelines and if you ask her questions she will laugh at you, call you stupid, and give you a pop quiz hoping you will fail.

Worst Professor I've ever had, isn't clear when assigning projects/homework/anything. Need help? She doesn't care because she thinks you should know everything already like she does.. idiots!! I cried doing almost every assignment cause of how vague her instructions are and how hard she is at grading. 10/10 don't take her.

Perkins is such a nice lady. She wants you to succeed by improving your writing skills and being more active as a student on campus. She is a tough grader though and loves students participating in discussions in class. Her work is a lot, doesn't give study guides and kind of feels unorganized.

Prof. Perkins is the best Ive had so far being at UNF. The people complain and ask pointless questions that can be answered by reading the syllabus. Perkins makes you get out and be active students on and off campus. PR writing can be time consuming so don't procrastinate. The final exam requires a lot but super easy.

I've never had a professor I disliked so much. She's not open minded and she's spiteful. Don't tell her you "don't get it" because there will be a test on it then.

Very nice lady, but horrible when it comes to telling students what her expectations are. Does not give examples on formatting and other necessary information. Its basically, figure it out on your own and most likely you're wrong.

Perkins may be tough, but she'll vastly improve your writing skills! At the very least, you'll have something to put in your portfolio. Perkins is passionate about PR and it shows in her lectures. You just have to work hard and visit her during office hours if you don't understand something. Make sure you get the AP Style book!

This class is a total mess. AVOID Dr. Perkins if you can. She is very unclear with her expectations, syllabus, grading policy, etc etc. Very hard tests and not a lot of clarity on what to study. Also deducts 37 pts. for missing over one class (FOR EACH CLASS.) Makes it harder than necessary. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Prof. Perkins was great! Funny, insightful, shared alot about her field experience. Take advantage of her office hours! Especially if you miss a class. She gives random quizzes and random assignments; you better show up to classes if you can. She asks for participation and makes you feel bad if you didn't read the text. Would recommend for PUR 3000

I HATED this class. even though I made a B, I do not recommend this professor. Her Powerpoints were so annoying and confusing. Her lectures didn't make sense. She spoke as if you were in trouble all the time. She's a nice lady and all, but I just could not sit through her class. the lab counted 3 times as much as the lecture portion for our grade.

Absolutely terrible. Speaks in what seems like code and is very very frustrating. One of the worst classes I've ever been apart of here. Even the questions on her test are confusing, but only bc of how she words them. There's a reason why she's the only teacher available when you're looking at classes.

She's nice and easy to talk to, but her grading is all over the place. Never consistant and definitely has her favorites. DO NOT take in the summer, it's like a mini campaigns class, not like the fall or semester course. if you aren't strong in writing take a different professor!

Although Dr. Perkins is a nice person, she has unclear expectations. After receiving a zero on an online make up quiz for using the internet, I was rather upset and she showed no concern.

Difficult determining expectations. Entire class was constantly confused. Test questions vague and not reflective of material. She presents the class as stuctured but due dates/assignments unclear. She provides little guidance. She tears apart rewrites after she approved them. Grading based on her personal discretion. Lectures were informative

Nice person but very frustrating class. You'll get rough drafts checked and make revisions, only to find you did it completely wrong. "It looks good" means nothing. Unclear expectations. Will challenge you if you ask about grades. Doesn't grade things for weeks. Test questions unrelated to material. Bad experience. Seems to only be with PR Writing.
