You need to read the book & apply the terms to a movie. There are lots of papers but if you understand the book youll be fine. The book is easy to read/skim. Put in effort, watch the movie multiple times & follow his guidelines. For some papers you need to apply the terms to your personal experience which is easy to do. Very sweet professor.

I've taken both his COMM 1001 and 2000 course. Although many people have said his lectures are boring it's honestly manageable. There are many assignments but they are all short and mainly how you relate to the readings. Honestly it's an easy A even if you skim over the readings. Also longer papers aren't hard either just copy and paste the reading

Really enjoyed taking Professor Golubow for both COMM1000&2000. His workload is manageable and clear of what he wants from you. Humorous in his own ways and nice class discussion. Easy professor and class just do as instructed and you will be just fine. Highly recommend.

He has a deep understanding of the topics that are taught in class. He encourages students to go in-depth with their thinking during group discussions & is always curious about what his students have to say. There are many papers in this course, but most are easy. He takes this class very seriously so behave well & he will help you succeed!

There are no tests for this class but there are many papers. The majority of the papers are very short and could be done easily. Symposiums and movie papers require a bit more work but 100% doable. Highly recommend.

Really good class, amazing professor. He is very laid back and is very open-minded when it comes to the class and how its formated. Likes student's feedback to his work. Yes, there is a lot of homework, but it is doable. Plus the class was something I looked forward too. As the topics related one way or another to everyone, it really connected us

He's very funny and kind. The homework is not even that bad considering he gives no test! He has a great personality and is easy to talk to. Only thing is that the class itself can be a little boring sometimes. Do your homework, be respectful, and try to participate and you will do great

His lectures are boring and senseless. He requires you two pick two movies to focus on for the whole semester and write tedious papers on. I've had no issues with more writing intensive courses that required more reading but this class was annoying. No tests. Just nerve wracking work and time wasted in class listening to his personal views.

His class involved a lot of writing, but not difficult and pretty interesting writing at that. No exams. He's very fair, and if you put in the effort you'll likely do well. I would take him again.

Such a kind professor. He takes his time with his students and truly wants them to succeed. He makes classes extremely fun and interesting. Absolutely no tests. Simple homework assignments and projects. Take him, he's great!

Really kind and nice man. Will go the extra mile to help students. If youre serious about the class and improving, then Professor Golubow will spend a lot of time to try to help. If you want to do well, listen to feedback he gives and improve your speeches based on the feedback and make sure your speeches follow the structure/format he asks for.

i was nervous to take this professor after reading all the negative comments...luckily i had a great experience! He does give a lot of papers, but they are not hard. He does expect his student to think and participate, but isn't this what makes a good professor? He is a VERY lenient grader. Take him! Definitely one of the better professors at BC

BE PREPARED TO WORK. To get an A in this class or even a B+ you need to work your behind off. Everything must be explained and given examples of. If he gives you a movie to watch be preared to watch it over and over and over again until you know the next line of all the characters! You seriously earn your grade in this class.

He is a mess. A LOT OF WORK BEWARE. I did more work for this class then ever in my whole college career. No Midterm or final but a symposium, life experience essay or movie anaylsis is due every class. I worked hard and got an A-, very hard to get an A. If you get on his good side and he likes the class the class will be overall fun like therapy
