If you want to learn about how the US government works. This is the guy to show you. You will have fun, while learning! He is reasonable about test questions. If you go to class and pay attention, you shouldnt have a problem passing. He is really the reason why I now pay attention to politics and care about it so much now.

Mr. Shomaker is a great professor, he starts the class right on time so make sure to be on time or else you're going to miss writing down some notes, he sends out emails with more info of the subject that its been thought during the class, he does curves grades. You have 4 quizzes and 4 test during the semester, no homework, just read and study.

I took him in Lonestar college and he's really funny and honest! He's s good professor and cares for his students. You must read the textbook and take notes when you are in class. If you pay attention and do the work, its really not that hard. I will take him again if I could.

I thought I would get a C in his class after my first test cos the tests are really tough. You have to read a lot and attend all of his lecture to get learn the materials. However, he does care about his students. He give you handouts that will help you a lot. i spent a lot of time for this class and then i ended up with an A

BEST TEACHER EVER. Honestly his class intimidated me because of his teaching style, but it helped me learn so much. You HAVE to read the textbook and the class isn't easy, but it is so worth it. I learned more about the government than I have ever been taught. He is very sarcastic, but he is funny about it. I am SO happy I took this class! Got an A

Hands down best professor at Blinn. Tough class but extremely worth it! Such a sweet man who truly cares about his students. Very funny and sarcastic- he makes you WANT to be in class. Never a dull moment!

At first I hated this class. Government is not one of my strong subjects and I'm not all that interested in it. I took Shomaker my Freshman year, and once he announced that he chooses 4 students a day to stand up all class period and help teach made me nervous. But I passed with a B and was always prepared due to the anxiety of being chosen

Mark Shomaker is easily one of the most apt and capable professors in his department, if not the entire campus. His minimester courses carry at a faster pace, but he keeps the subject very interesting. If you read the text and listen in class, there is no reason you shouldn't make a good grade in his class

ONE OF THE BEST, IF NOT THE BEST TEACHER AT BLINN. HE GETS THE ENTIRE CLASS ENGAGED, MAKES JOKES, GIVES EXAMPLES, HE MAKES LEARNING GOVT FUN. WHEN HE SAYS STUDY DO IT!!! LIKES TO TEST HIS STUDENTS, IF FOLLOW HIS INSTRUCTIONS ,IM POSITIVE YOU WILL PASS HIS CLASS WITH a grade of a B or BETTER.

Was an excellent professor. His class takes place in a 80 student lecture hall and class involves a different group standing up and he asks questions on the reading. Read or he will make you look like a clown. Curves well, but you have to put an effort in or you will surely make a C or D in this class because the tests/quizzes are hard. Must take!

I LOVED him. He is passionate about government, and made me actually WANT to learn the material! Very sarcastic/funny, has a dry sense of humor. As long as you read the textbook and prepare for class you should be able to pull of an A/B. He curves very generously too.

He is by far the best professor that I have had so far! He made govt so interesting and I learned so much! His tests and quizes can be difficult if you dont show up to class and the reading is necessary if you want to pass. Overall it is not a hard class if you will just read the book! I would recommend him to anyone and would take him again!

Great teacher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Read your textbook and take notes in class and you are set. The tests are a bit hard, but he curves and if you pay attention in class you will hear most if not all the test questions.

I LOVVVEEE this teacher. I have absolutely no interest in govt but he makes it an enjoyment. I struggled and never imagined passing his class. I ended with a B and lots of knowledge. I recommend everyone to get to know him and enjoy the year.

BEST TEACHER AT BLINN! SIGN UP NOW! i had this at 9AM and if i had any other teacher i would have fallen asleep!Really cares about his students!Makes you love government and you actually learn!Test are hard but he know that so he curves! just study your notes and READ the chapters and you'll do fine!Seriously wish i could take it again!

By far the BEST professor I have ever had. Prior to his class I had no interest in Government now I look forward to going to his lectures. He isn`t afraid to tell you what`s up so be ready to take a little criticism and sarcasm! His test are challenging, but he makes sure your highly prepared for each one. I highly suggest taking his class!

Absolutely the BEST professor I've EVER had. Class/tests are hard but he'll help you anyway he can. He WANTS you to succeed. He'll have fun "embarrass" you but never anything too far, all in good nature and for fun. Not only will you learn in this class, you'll leave the semester with a genuine interest in politics. TAKE HIM!!!!!!!!!

Best teacher I have had at blinn. He knows his stuff and is very passionate about it. His test and quizzes are hard but reading from the book is extremely helpful. Also, visit him during office hours and he takes a good personal interest in you. This class is one of the most beneficial classes I have taken. You will love attending class.

He is veryy nice and loves to have fun in class. If you like govt you should take him. His test and quizzes are prettty hard but he helps you with a big curve in the end! He jokes alot in class. Best teacher i've ever had!! the only professor that is genuine about caring for each student, i mean he knows each person of an 80 person class by name. Made me want to pay attention, tests are hard and he demands the best of you and thats wat it takes, but he grades on a curve, and what u get in the class is wat u deserve, just read the txt book.
