Comment:

The class was very easy for me since I took both AP Lang and AP Lit in high school. It is basically one of those classes, analyzing poetry, prose, and whatnot for literary terms. She's not an awful teacher, but not the best. Just show up to class and write decent papers and she'll like you. Only two tests, two big papers, and five small papers

This teacher pretty much ruined my love for English and that is no exaggeration. She grades 100% on opinion and has no objectivity behind her grading. I had to on multiple occasions ask for a second opinion on some writings. Do yourself a favor and REFRAIN from this professor. You will regret taking her class.

She is a great teacher and i do not know why am i saying that! She is everything opposite of a great teacher, constantly changing the schadule and correcting your grammar during the class and also in your email.

Webb is a teacher I would not reccomend at all! She is always changing her assignment schedule and randomly dawning essays upon us. Her grading proccess is unclear and she doesn't really have a proper grading basis for our essays. She is very vague and unclear about what she wants in her essay. Worst english class I have ever taken.

My interest prior to this class was very high but afterwards, it was exactly opposite. She constantly updated her schedule which made it hard to concentrate. She indulged in vanity fair during her class. I only focused on this class all semester and I was very disappointed.

Mrs. Webb has been one of the kindest teachers I've had at UNR. She truly wants you to become a better writer, although she believes that is mostly up to you not here. I learned a lot in this class and it was very fair for a English 101 course.

She is truly a horrible teacher. She is constantly unclear about what she wants in your essays and class assignments. She gives little helpful feedback and seems to base your essay grade 100% on opinion. I would steer clear.

Comment:

Mary Webb was a good English teacher. At times she would be confusing especially when giving directions to assignments. However, she is very willing to help. The class requires a lot of essays to do but overall it was a fairly easy class. She is very friendly and gives out assignments that will really improve your writing.

Professor Webb is a good teacher and cares greatly about her students. If you go to class and do the assignments to the best of your abilities you will recieve a good grade. She is not strict and is pleasant. I really like her and would reccommend her as a teacher.

Mary Webb is very smart and knows her stuff. There was a lot of reading. The class wasn't difficult but you have a relatively high amount of work to do. She was polite and fun in class. Class wasn't particularly interesting but she did her best with it.

Webb is a great teacher! As long as you participate in the discussion and read, and do the work you'll be fine. She's available for appointments all the time. She's a really great teacher

Unclear about assignment instructions. Grading is completely random. When I e-mailed her with questions, she was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Her assignments seemed easy, but her grading was very harsh. Attendance is MANDATORY... Even though every class is the same discussion. I wouldn't take another class taught by HER unless it was required.

Class/Assignments are extremely tedious. She does the same thing EVERY day. Takes attendance very seriously. Can't miss more than three classes without grade being lowered. She's totally unclear about assignment expectations and will grade you lower if the assignment isn't done "correctly" or your view doesn't match hers. Don't recommend her at all

I liked Webb. She's the one that helped me decide to become an English major. Participate (even if it's only once each class), read the stuff, and go to class. No tests, all essays. Avoid using the passive voice. Just try and she'll be reasonable with you.

She probably ruined English for me. She was random with her grading, and made little effort to help others. She was confusing and every time I asked for help she was rude and disrespectful. I would never recommend anyone to her class. HORRIBLE!!!

This is an incredibly hard class. If you like a challenge, then by all means, take it. She seems like a nice woman, but she's often unclear about her expectations, and she seems to be very subjective in her analysis', making it hard to get a good grade if she doesn't agree with you. Like I said, she seems nice, but it's HARD to get a good grade.

Professor Webb grades at random. You have no idea what she is looking for with assignments. I've gotten A's, B's, C's, and D's on papers I've put effort into. She seems to just pull a grade out of a hat. Do not take this professor if you're trying to keep your gpa consistent.
