Hard to understand and doesnt speak good English. Very strict about departmental rules when she really doesnt have to. A point off for every missed class. A point off participation every day you miss. I did extremely well in all other Spanish classes and am naturally good at it but I just With her. Hard grader, doesnt give partial points

Ms. Byrd was the sweetest and cutest little lady! She cares SO much for her students. Most of the tests and things are departmental but she really wants you to do well--very available for anything outside of class.

I LOVE MRS. BYRD! She is such a great teacher and genuinely cares about her students and that they do well. Attendance is mandatory, she takes a point off your grade everyday you miss. Her tests and quizzes are easy if you pay attention in class!

look, i'll shoot straight here she is a sweet lady (if she likes you). If you have a good concept of Spanish going in not only will the class be easy but i guarantee you you'll be a favorite. But if your like me and struggle with Spanish she isn't a great teacher and that is essential in a foreign language. my advice take Gibson if you can.

She's one of the sweetest professors that I've ever had. However, she is one of the tougher ones that I've found out for 1152. Her intentions are good and she wants everyone to get an 100 in the class. Gives great study guides before tests. However, she follows all of the department rules. Other teachers for this class are more laid back.

A lot of the problems that people have with SPAN1152 come from the fact that it is a departmental class with very strict rules regarding attendance and online homework. Despite this, Prof. Byrd gives her all to help her students succeed in the course, just go to class and office hours and show her that you're trying and you'll be fine.

She's the cutest little lady who wants to see everyone succeed. If you ask her questions she will help you. Go to her office hours! I recommend her for 1152. There's a lot of homework and tests are difficult but it's the department. She gives great study guides before each quiz and test. Wish I could take her again next semester

She seems like a really nice lady at first but she grades everything so hard and doesn't give you partial credit for anything. She expects you to just know everything because you learned it in "1152". I would not suggest taking her, if you have another choice take someone else!!!!

I absolutely love her! She is by far my favorite teacher I've had at LSU thus far. This class is mostly oral, and a few assignments and projects. She is so sweet and entertaining. I honestly enjoy going to class! She's hilarious. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

The Spanish department has a very strict attendance policy and this class is 4 days a week. The tests get harder throughout the semester so make sure you do really well on the first one so you have some cushion. Make flash cards for the vocab and the irregular verbs and review the country's she says and you will do fine on the tests

She's sweet but her English is awful. The class is time consuming but the crap load of different assignment makes it almost impossible to fail.

Such a sweet lady that is understanding and willing to help. She grades fairly--not an overly hard grader for oral assignments or compositions. Gives clear notes and is also always very clear about upcoming assignments. As far as spanish teachers go, she's one of the good ones.

Byrd is the sweetest and cutest little Spanish lady! She honestly wanted the best for her students and was always willing to help. You really have to dedicate a lot of time to the course and assignments though. BTW, if you can already speak fluent Spanish and you take this class, everyone will hate you. Nobody likes that arrogant guy.

By far the easiest class I've taken at LSU. If you know any Spanish at all it's nearly impossible to fail this class, it's basically high school spanish in a college level setting. Lidia Byrd is also the easiest professor ever. Definitely take her

Lydia is the type of Span teacher that thinks since she knows the language, then we're all native speakers. She has her good days when she's pleasant, then others when she will get frustrated with you. Don't go to her for any issues, because she only cares about her opinion. I only came out with a B b/c I studied my butt off, she offered no help.
