Comment:

Professor Mel is a great professor in my opinion. It's logical. You write and essay and expect it to be graded with a college-level criteria. It is not a difficult class. You will write a couple of papers, but he gives you endless chances to keep revising them until it gets to the A grade you want!!! You will definitely improve your writing skills!

Comment:

This processor helped me extraneously improve my skills. He required us to come for revisions in his office, especially for those who had a lot to improve. It was hard and time consuming but I would strongly advise to take this professor. he will improve your skills. I used to write essays and always receive a C or below, now my score is an A.

Comment:

Professor Stagnaro's class is hard, but it is accelerated. I do believe that his class had helped me to become a better writer. If you don't show up to class at least 3 times you will be dropped. Pay attention to what he says in lectures, since it will all be very IMPORTANT. He is a very nice guy and GO to his office hours if you ever need help!

Comment:

He did try and help guide us as much as possible. He would lecture on and on sometimes which made it hard to stay awake in class. He is understanding when it comes to situations outside of class, if you ask for help you will receive the help. Overall an okay choice for your professor.

Three essays in total for the class. Jumps around when assigning essays, talks about essay three way before the deadline for essay one is announced. Third Essay is a 8-10 page research paper, not fun at all. Best advice to avoid this professor.

Worst professor Iv had in my college year. No feed back, Worst part is he goes off topic. If he doesn't like you, you'll fail. He goes off topic and doesn't stay on one topic or even tells you the main point of what he wants. I suggest you take another professor before you end up with him.

At first I was not really feeling this class but after going to one of his office hours I started to appreciate the class and professor Mel. He is understanding and helps in any way that he can. Class was boring and he lectured forever but overall the workload is the easiest and not bad. Sometimes is can get hard but overall easy!

His lectures have nothing to do at all with the content of what your homework is so its hard to do it. All he does is give busy work that doesn't help learn anything. He goes off topic a lot and his instructions are difficult. He is also a tough grader.

Doesn't really go by syllabus so its hard to know what is due. He goes into depth in his lectures, so class gets kind of boring. But he will help his students if they ask for help. As long as you go to class and complete your assignments you should pass.

no testsexams, he doesnt follow his syllabus which was difficult for me! he planned a last minute final 2 days before finals.. but it was easy. grade consists of small quizzes for the fall 2014 One Book he made us read, and your portfolio. Your portfolio consists of 3 essays and a research paper. Really boring class, he goes off topic all the time

He is a very helpful professor but this class is hard. Your grade is based on a portfolio full of essays. His grading is confusing so go to his office hours as it may help certain people. He doesn't really stay with the syllabus and changes is often.

This is a relatively easy class. If you pay attention and do the assignments you'll be fine. There is a handbook he asks you to get but it's not necessary. Great professor. Tough grader but you will come out of his class as a much stronger writer than what you were before. Ended up earning an A- for his class but it was NOT easy. Bottom line, if you want an easy A I wouldnt recommend taking him, but if you want to become a better writer, I would take him for sure.

Very nice professor, and his essay grading is the most lenient I have ever seen. You get to submit your essay multiple times, get feedback and the chance to revise it. He asks you to buy a writing handbook, but we never used it, so I don't think you should bother buying it.
