She is not very precise in her lectures on what you need to know for the tests. She didn't quite answer questions in a concise way, and frankly kinda rude. Honestly, thought I was alright at math before her class. She uses SPSS and expects you to know it.. without hardly any guidance. Very hard time finding a tutor for this class. Good luck...

I had SOC201 with Hallett and this course was a small class and was project based. We got into groups the first week and the rest of the semester was working on the project with a little bit of homework. The material was not difficult and her lectures and notes were helpful.

Prof Hallett is not a bad professor, but she isn't kind. She's a bit rude and will often project her anger onto her students. The class is heavy is SPSS. There was a medium-difficulty assignment due every week. Her video lectures were actually very helpful especially with COVID going on.

She wouldn't cut me some slack and bump my D+ to a C- just so I could pass during the coronavirus pandemic. Overall she's a good professor but I just wish she was a little more understanding.

She's really not that bad. If you go to class and make sure you get a study buddy or get in a group you are good. You have to focus and take good notes during class because there is only one test and it's the final worth 50% of your grade. Overall I only had the class once a week and it was really nice. If you're willing to go to class its worth it

Not a bad teacher. Don't listen to the other reviews. Just do the work with a friend, read the course reader it's a big help! The final is 50% of the grade but you get a SG/Mockfinal/and a 8x11 cheat sheet. She sometimes gives EC. Just put in the effort trust me, don't copy the work with a friend actually try to understand it and you will do fine

She is awful. I took her for Soc201 and there was one test worth 49% of the grade. She takes forever to respond to emails and is not understanding at all even if youre a good student. She overcomplicates concepts and moves really fast in class. She does not care if students succeed. Do not take her class if you can help it.

Daily class work worth points (also her attendance) and a few "labs" outside of class that is just homework. Only need the course reader textbook, we NEVER used the straightforward statistics textbook. You can use a cheat cheat on the final BUT the final is worth 50% of your grade. But all you need on final is basically just the SPSS instructions

Every time I emailed her, she would take forever and then answer with not helpful information. Literally reads over the power-points and doesnt explain much. Youre pretty much on your own unless you study with a group.

I thought that this class was going to be very easy but some of the assignments we did were difficult. All of the assignments are done online and if your answer is slightly off you wont get any credit. I also didn't think she was very helpful especially during finals. An A is for sure achievable if you put in enough effort.

Attendance points every class. She is very sassy and doesn't answer questions directly/ is not helpful. Half of the class consists of online labs using SPSS. The course reader helped a lot and she gives you a cheat sheet on the final.

everyone seems to be complaining about her, but she really isn't that bad. Class got cancelled half the time but we still had to assignments from home that were due at the time class was normally over. Those are easy because you can work with a friend. so just have a smart friend in the class. you don't need the book, but you need the course reader

Her lectures are based from the textbook so I suggest reading the textbook ahead of time then going to lecture for a clearer understanding. Your grade is based off of 3 exams, 1 group project and a few other assignments, but the assignments vary depending if you have her large lecture or smaller class.

Lays out clear requirements from the students. You will have to make your own notes from the class. Lecture slides are of little help. Group assignments. Great course content!

Doesn't actually teach the material. Just reads over her slides and expects students to get it right away. Does not seem to put a lot of time into this class. Generally nice person but it seems like she has other things to worry about other than her Soc 201 class.

The material isn't too hard, it's just that professor Hallet isn't that helpful. If you ask for help she won't really help you. Also, there is homework every week. Don't bother asking for any extensions on HW or quizzes, she won't give it to you. Make sure you understand the material and you'll be fine for quizzes & HW. Cheat sheet for final.

GET THE COURSE READER! She's a little sassy, but she helps if you ask. This fall (of 2015), we were not allowed to use cheat sheets on every quiz BUT for our final we were allowed a double sided cheat sheet. It was an easy course for the most part, not a lot of "math math". I recommend this class instead of STAT 119

She isn't clear at all and she is a boring lecturer. Buy the course reader if you want to pass because thats the only way you will. It is a pretty easy class, if you get the course reader. Overall, there is a test for each chapter and homework for each section. I would not recommend taking her if you struggle in mathematics
