I truly must say the professor Headings is with out a doubt the BEST teacher I have had on college. He presents a clear balanced literacy approach that is entrenched in fact and classroom practice. He is HIGHLY engaging, energetic, motivated and wants to see his students succeed. I can not recommend him enough. If you can take make sure you do.

Professor Headings is without a doubt one of the best teachers on campus. I do not understand why he is not full time. He has one of the best understandings of elem. education of any in the department. He is funny, interesting, and highly knowledgable. TAKE IF YOU CAN. IT IS WELL WORTH YOUR EFFORT!!!!

This professor is OUTSTANDING!!!!!! I can not say enough about him. He truly understands what a balanced literacy approach means on ALL grade levels.He is exciting and passionate about what he does. Without a doubt the BEST education professor on campus. No matter what you teach try to take his course. He is truly understands how to teach reading!

Enthusiastic, caring, very generous with knowledge, time and materials; but totally whole language biased to the detriment of teaching the actual "Foundations of Reading." If your want to teach 4th or 5th grade, take him, but if you want to teach K, 1st or 2nd, avoid him, because what you need to know about balanced literacy he won't teach you.

Best education professor, bar none!!!! He gives great honest feedback. He lets you know how it really is to be a teacher and what you need to do to be a success. His drive and focus are increible. I learned so much in this class. He is hilarious, too. Fun class!
