Great teacher! Unfortunate that he is retiring after this semester but I am so thankful I got a chance to have him! He's so funny and makes his lectures/lessons interesting by involving students.

I think that Howe is a pretty good teacher. He takes a very much "I'm not your mommy" kind of approach. He expects you to do work outside of class but that's kind of expected in college anyway. Honestly he gives enough extra credit that I finished that class with an A+ so as long as you do the work he is a good Professor. Also is very funny.

I think he is a very average professor. He's goes through a ton of example problems and most of his testquiz questions are straight from the homework. He usually gives quite a bit of extra credit questions on tests as well. I thought this class was fine and would probably take it with him again if I needed to.

Professor Howe is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. Do not take him at all. I promise you that you will regret it if you do. His lectures are so boring. He writes so much on the board and doesn't explain anything. He expects you to understand things really fast. Horrible teacher. He know knows the stuff but can't teach. I repeat HORRIBLE!

This class definitely takes work outside of class. He gives a lot of extra credit to help with grades. He will help if you need it, but he expects you to know it.

Dr. Howe is an okay professor. His teaching is all done on the whiteboard and can be boring. He expects you to understand some things he never mentions how to do. If you pay attention during lectures, you will do well. There are many group activities which he awards extra credit. He also gives extra credit for attendance on Friday's sometimes.

This professor was not helpful to me at all. The things we did in class didn't even compare to the homework. Also the homework was online which I found annoying because it's hard to type math symbols on the computer. I emailed him with questions and asked him to give better examples in class and he replied "k" to me. Professional? I don't think so.

Instead of teaching, he would give us group work and expect us to be confident in our work. He does not give any answer keys for study guides and test questions are very unclear, class content does not follow anything in the book. He has a phd and an ego to match. However, occasionally gave extra credit for showing up on Fridays. Avoid his classes.

Teach your self. He will walk into class, write an equation on the board, maybe stick around to teach it and then leave for 20 or so min. Read the book. He gives EC for people who attend class when it looks like the room is empty. He has the ego of a math Ph.D and expects people to be the same.

He stands at the board and writes down examples of problems and expects you to know them. He does not teach you the material, he writes it down and then you have to do it. When you ask questions, he answers them with an answer that is not answering what the question was asking.

He is a very easy grader, every exam he hands out extra credit. Overall, he was the worst professor that I have ever had. The class consists of him going up to the board and solving problems. He assumes that you know everything and he doesn't have to teach it.

If you are decent at math and want an easy A, take this class. He hands out extra credit left and right, sometimes for just coming to class. He explains most things well, although will rush through other things but will go back through it if you ask. One thing I don't like is how condescending he will be if you ask questions.

Very hard to understand his logic. I had a hard time reading his handwriting on the board. He taught as if the class already understood the material. Let us out of class early every day. Compensates his classes with tons of extra credit to boost their grades. I learned almost nothing from him.

Gives a lot of extra credit. Completely condescending, unhelpful, and unclear. Teaches as if it's a review session. I learned completely from the book. Wouldn't recommend, although the class is fairly easy with him.

Previously I gave Howe a good rating for 109. This is because 109 is a pretty easy class. Howe really isn't a great teacher though, so Calc 2 was pretty miserable with him. Calc 2 is admittedly hard to teach, but he definitely doesn't teach it well. On the upside, he does give a ton of extra credit. Study hard and do a lot of problems before tests.

I absolutely loved Howe as a professor! He's super funny and loves to joke around and have fun. He's a great teacher and covers the material great, never once looked in the book. His tests are easy and he drops your lowest grade incase you messed up on one. Assigns that you write 3, 1-2 page papers that are easy and only help out your grade.
