He was not an easy professor. The tests are not easy whatsoever. He does give you a study guide, a lot of material to memorize. He says that they are "not trick questions" but, they are. You have to read his test questions over and over to even understand his scenarios. He was alright, but you have to work very hard for your grade. Definitely tough

Professor Pearlman was by far one of the worst I have had at Mason. He gives you an outline of his own notes he will be going over in class which are hard to follow since they look nothing like what he is going over. Exams are really hard and are counted heavy against you. He is a nice guy but it was just super hard to keep up with him.

Good teacher. Does not use Blackboard. Grading is very weird:Reaction papers, 2 tests(1 is optional), Midterm, and Final. 2 Extra credit papers. Group project with paper. Gives course material in packets that he brings to class. No study guides but if you study the packets and go to class you will pass. Uses class discussion questions.

Professor P is awesome! No need to buy textbook, he prints everything out. The guy has been a law enforcement officer and a correctional officer so you will learn a lot of real life stuff if you're interested in those fields. 3 exams which are relatively easy but you need to go to class! (a lot of test questions reference videos shown in class!!

For a Freshman taking a 300 level class (not on purpose) I did well. Pulled my grade up from a C to a B in the last two weeks. No homework. 2 extra credit assignments that he grades toughly. 1paper. 3 test. DONT BUY THE TEXTBOOK. he gives the notes typed. Study them! Study ahead. You'll do fine.

Excellent professor overall who really cares about his students and has a wealth of knowledge that adds to the class. He has a concrete teaching style with pretty straightforward tests. With some effort, you can get a good grade. A few tests and a paper make up the class. 100% worth taking

Awesome professor, knows his STUFF, very knowledgeable. He wants every person to participate, which is really good. When you participate it is A LOT of fun. Fun activities, movies, and even acting! Show up to class, and make sure you study, his exams are HARD! Papers too.

He's a very fun guy, full of knowledge and experience, I almost failed the class since I had three D's, but the attendance plus the final paper & final exam brought it up to a B, which helped a lot on my GPA. Awesome teacher all around. Highly Recommend.

Despite what the rest say, the textbook was helpful, even though you don't need it. I bought the cheap 2nd edition. Pay attention to his anecdotes; they're not well told, but they show up on the tests. Do a presentation if you can. Overall he's not the best, but certainly not the worst.

Great guy! Classes are very interesting. Dont buy the book!!! You do not need it, he provides chapter summaries. The exams ask some unlikely questions (you know what I mean once you have taken an exam), but they will all come from the chapter summaries.

Pearlman is hilarious. By far, one of the most interesting lectures I've attended. Incredibly helpful and has a really flexible grading rubric - especially if you don't like doing presentations. Would highly recommend. However, you NEED to attend class. The majority of the test is based off in class discussions. Textbook is definitely a waste.

Not a very hard class, you don't need to buy the book since he hands out chapter notes before going over the material. Presentation is optional, or you can do a group paper that is pretty easy. Overall I would def recommend taking the class.

Kind of a crazy guy, lots of cool stories. He is captivating because he is so lively and animated. One thing I never understood was his exams. He provides chapter summary notes, but asks some of the most random things on his exams. Unfortunately, I never really absorbed much from the class and didn't really get his style.

Don't waste your money buying this book from the bookstore. get the cheap old version online. You'll only need it for some reference points. All of the material is covered in class and on study guides. make sure you go to class because test questions are tough if you haven't been paying attention.

What's wrong with everyone, are they geeks or what? This teacher calls on people's name in order to force students to participate.Even if you don't want to participate, he will call your name from the list. His exams are hard and his behavior is strange.
