While professor Briggs is a chill guy and the class was an easy A, I didn't feel like I learned anything. His lectures are beyond boring, and the exam questions came straight from the online homework which is all you need to know. I took this class to gauge my interest in political science and I don't think I will continue on the track bc of this.

Mr. Briggs is an insightful guy who has a lot of personal experience with politics. Material can get monotonous because he has to follow the powerpoints Pearson provides him with. I listened initially but then I just used class time to read the chapters and highlight and I found the tests easy. Very understanding guy who occasionally cancels class.

Good guy!! Attendance is mandatory, but his lectures are pretty interesting. He does homework through the online textbook and his tests aren't too hard.

Such a great professor! He really cares about what he's teaching, but doesn't make the 4 test too difficult. Just study the homework questions and pay attention to his lectures in class. He cancels class a lot, lets you take a replacement exam after the final, and curves each test by 10 points. Overall a great guy.

Overall, Mr. Briggs is a fair, good guy. He gave extra credit on nearly every exam and opened up the online homework multiple times. Even if he tells you that you need the book, you don't. He does power points in class that you just need to copy down and you can easily do well on the tests. He exempted the people with A's on the final.

He is one of the most caring professors at USC hands down. He cares about what he's teaching and truly believes in his student's potential. He told a 200 person lecture class if anyone ever needed a recommendation to not hesitate to contact him. His tests are more difficult than I expected but if you study, you should be fine. I love this man!!!!!

You do not the textbook for this class, but you do need to buy an access for the homework. He does take attendance with tophat, and doesn't put any of the notes on blackboard. So taking notes to pass the tests are crucial to pass the tests, and studying the homework questions.

A lot of material is covered for the 50 question tests (4 total). If you're good at remembering dates, names, court cases and the constitution, you'll be fine. If politics/american government isn't your forte, you'll struggle. Uses Tophat for attendance ($25), but can't be bothered to post grades to Blackboard.

Professor Briggs is the realest that they get. He's extremely smart and cares so much for the students and provide them with everything they need to know to succeed inside and outside of the classroom. Online Revel homework makes a huge difference and show up for class! His "situations" are easy if you study every bit of the chapter. Great guy

Mr. Briggs is a nice, knowledgeable old man who struggles with technology. As a result nothing is posted on blackboard. I don't understand government well, so his lectures were hard to follow. He uses Revel for the homework, so I did my studying with that. His tests can be challenging unless you study a lot. He is very flexible and understanding.

Professor Briggs clearly knows what he is talking about when it comes to government. His lectures can be a bit long/uninteresting, but they're full of information. Doing the homework is necessary to get a good grade, but it usually takes 20 minutes or less and is only given about once a week. The tests are fifty questions, and easy if you study.

Briggs is a character. Has ton of real world experience that he mixes into his class. A bunch of stuff about his org. and that annoys some people. Fair grader. Not too complicated material. Would definitely take again. Lectures can be boring but if you come to class and take notes, you'll get an A. Takes attendance. 3 exams and a paper. 25% each.

Briggs is a very passionate professor but the difference between the lectures and the tests are way too unpredictable. I know the majority of the class I was in struggled greatly. It's one of those classes where the only grades are the 3 exams so you have to do well on them which I'd say the average grade for each exam was around a D

Briggs is egotistical and opinionated, but knowledgeable. His class should be called "The Central SC Alliance Guide to Economic Development." This class has nothing to do with politics; it is an econ/business class. Attendance is mandatory. Two exams, one research paper. He is vague on what he expects on the paper/exams, but grades leniently.

Although he is very knowledgeable, he tends to stray off topic VERY frequently and the class wanders a lot in direction. Tests do require a good amount of studying, but I made an A. Overall, I found myself zoning out more than learning, but this is not a topic that interests me in general.

Professor Biggs is a nice guy and cares about his students. He knows the material very well and expects the students to know it too. He talks a lot about his business and he is pretty lax when it comes to reading the textbook. I would read it as the test comes from the lecture and book. Nice guy, learned a good bit from him.

He was so-so.If you are actually interested in learning something,I would not take this prof.He wouldn't even take the time to give our tests back 4 us 2 see what we missed so we learn from them.If you can read the book well, just show up to take his 5 tests- he drops the lowest test grade. The TAs are lazy, but you can score points by showing up.
