Comment:

Mike definitely has a passion for earth science and it shows in his teaching! He may not be the easiest professor, but he is fun and energetic. Mike is also very open minded about the subject matter and willing to admit when he doesn't know the answer to something. I've learned a lot from him.

Mike is very enthusiastic about geology. If you put in the effort, his class isn't that difficult. He will mainly rely on his lectures for teaching you what you need to know for the tests.

Mike is an amazing teacher! Very passionate about his work, and it shows in his classes. I would highly recommend this class for anyone who takes college seriously.

Comment:

I've had Mike as a teacher since high school. His tests have never been difficult for me to take, plus he makes the learning fun. The only reason GS100 is difficult for some people is that it's a telecourse, so there's not much contact with the teacher himself.

Comment:

If you enjoy earth processes, and don't want to take chemistry or biology to satisfy your science requirements, this is the perfect series to take. I completed the series with an A, and I lost my text book the first term. Mike's lecture notes are availible to anybody from his website, he follows these almost WORD FOR WORD IN CLASS! Very liberal.

Tests were difficult but if you watch the videos and read the assigned text with good notes the class was OK.Test questions are misleading so be careful!
