Great professor, such a cute little lady. Learning Chinese is hard in and of itself, but this professor makes it manageable. As long as you make an effort in learning/speaking the language, you will pass the course.

Comment:

Chinese is a very difficult language to learn for an American. However, Haishan Lai makes it easy to understand and even fun to learn. I highly recommend her. Also, she grades really softly so you don't have to worry about failing so long as you go to class and do the homework. It's an easy A.

She is a very sweet lady who does her best not to everwhelm us. She grades pretty gently thank goodness. She's not going to wreck your gpa for a 100-level class, and you will see a lot of material. Hen hao lao shi!

She's my favorite 老师。 What a fun person that does not make you regret to come to class. if you are bold enough, you can steer the class in your direction. She says yes to most ideas, as long as they are reasonable. I'm taking her next semester as well. Fantastic.

Professor is amazing, the learning of characters and pinyin is the most difficult part. Take time to memorize or else you will have no clue of what to answer on the tests. 10 points extra credit on each test, no final, just 4 tests at 20% (non cumulative of sorts). Nice class, memorization is your only enemy. Use textbook and workbook.

Sweet lady. Easy class. Try to keep up. She grades very fairly and gives extra credit for mid-term and finals. Tests are easy if you study, they're straight from the book. Not much hard than any other language.

Comment:

She is cute and nice but not entirely easy to understand sometimes. However, like any language class, you have to practice on your own to expect to learn anything. The class itself is easy to get an A or B considering the extra credit she gives.
