When I say this professor knows the history of New York, he KNOWS it. On top of having written two books about it he was also featured in a documentary. If you actually want to learn take his class. He gives a midterm, 15 page interview and a final. If you pay attention and read you will pass his class. It was an honor to have him

took him for both history of crime and 300 years of NYC History. Stay on top of the readings and have something intelligent to say in class here and there, and you are good. He gives out essay questions for the midterm a week before, so no surprises- and the syllabus is so detailed. He is a great professor and an exemplary historian, what an honor!

I'll spell it out EXACTLY how it is. IT WAS AN HONOR TO LEARN FROM PROFESSOR WALLACE. I really mean that. He's a Pulitzer Prize winner. You don't REALLY need the book. If you take great notes, like I did, you won't even need to open your book. I crammed before each exam. If you just look up photos of places on the walking tour, youll pass that quiz

I took him for History of NYC. He is probably the authority in the world on the subject. Obviously brilliant and passionate about his work, lectures all class, very engaging and informative. Midterm, final, 15 page interview paper (any format, dialogue, etc) Seems very chill, doubt he cares too much for absences, doesn't yell, overall a unique 10.

I am currently taking this professor and I truly wonder why everyone gave this man a good grade. He is boring and expects you to honestly enjoy reading a 1,238 paged book that he wrote. Even though he talks out of his ass you need to take notes (which I am hate myself for not doing now.) I suggest you take him with a light load of classes.

Prof. Wallace is amazing. He's been on the History channel numerous times and quite a few classes was just watching the documentaries. I've learned so much more than I expected and definitely all your money's worth! Midterm, Final, and 15 page interview. Take him...you'll love NY in a total different way!

I love his. but after this class I can't hate it. I fought hard for my grade. Be prepare to read alot in this class. The midterm and final consist of eleven questions based on the readings and Prof. Wallace picks four. He always pick the question that most people didn't really study for. For CRJ major you most likely have to take this class.

His class doesn't require a textbook. U Have to print the readings from the school's e-text. There's a lot of readings. If u don't like to read, don't take his class. His class is a lecture class. The class is boring. If u like history, u might like the class. The midterm & final are based on notes and readings. A 5-10 pg paper. Fair grader.

Very interesting class that if u're interested in history of NY. There is midterm, final, and 15 page paper. He gives 10 review questions, which he'll pick only 4 for test. He seems like a nice, understanding guy; however, the reading is unbelievable. Every week you need to read about 200 pages

Not a bad professor, but you must do tons of reading, a paper and take a midterm and final. Can get boring at times but mostly interesting talk of the history of crime in nyc.
