Overall this class is structured exceptionally well and has a focus on real-world applications. My experience with Koretsky was that he genuinely cares about the success of his students. Take advantage of the plethora of quality resources that are available throughout the class (e.g., worksheets and handouts).

Amazing teacher. One of the few that actually cares if you learn. I had him for CBEE 213 and CHE 312 and I definitely got to know him better in 312 with the smaller classes. I recommend going to his office hours, he will change his explanation so that it makes sense to your unique learning style. Tough class but rewarding.

He's terrible. I've had another class with him (CHE 312) where he accused 30+ students of academic dishonesty because they all answered a homework the way he taught us. You miss two homeworks? You fail the class. "I want you to be confused" he says, what he really means is he cant teach well enough to explain it to you. You have to take him tho :(

The instructional style of the professor made it very hard to understand let alone apply the content. Lectures were often just him rambling about some vague aspect of statistics that was outside the realm of the class. I learned WAY more from his online notes and from youtube than I did from listening to him. I had to teach myself this course.

Lectures and studio were 2 hours long twice a week, but the professor mainly talked about irrelevant material or was very vague about relevant material. Stopped the entire class because someone was using their laptop. Going to class was mandatory and even if the studio was finished an hour early, students were required to stay for the extra hour.

I think that Koretsky is a sweet person who's really intelligent. Unfortunately, he seems to struggle to bring the class content "down a notch" to an undergrad level. It was also frustrating because he didn't teach how to do some of the hw until the night before it was due. Office hours were helpful, and I liked the overall atmosphere of the class.

Dr. Koretsky is one of the greatest minds in college of engineering at OSU. However, I wouldn't say he's a good teacher. His class is long and by long I mean 2 hours with nothing to do but "prepare" you for studio and "recite" it. He tries to get the students to interact, but how can they interact if he doesn't even clarify and explain the content!

Koretsky taught me a lot about thermodynamics but it was not always fun. He tries to throw in unique questions on every exam, and they can be wildly different. Overall I learned a lot, but Koretsky can be a bit moody during class, and the exams were frustrating at times.

Full time industrial work would be better suiting. His goals are self motivated, pushing people out of class for personal gain in his academic standing. He needs to admit he can't compete with and will never work at MIT. On the other hand, unclear about what he expects you to know, especially on his home-grown exams. Learn statistics or PermaFry.

Koretsky teaches two of the toughest classes in CBEE/CHE that you'll ever take. He knows the stuff, and he knows how to help you learn it. That does NOT mean it will be easy. His Thermodynamics book is pretty helpful for CHE 312, but it's tough to find example problems in CBEE 213 that are worked out. He's pretty avid about not giving out answers.

Dr. Koretsky is one of the most knowledgeable people I know. He can be frustrating for some students because he makes you figure everything out on your own. In the end, if you are willing to learn he will teach you everything you need to know and more.

Koretsky is a great instructor, and I only had moderate interest in the topic (unlike a lot of very passionate people in the class) but I still really enjoyed it. The labs were a lot of work, but as long as you have a good team they aren't too bad. Overall, it wasn't all that hard, you just had to put effort in.

Took 213, 312, and 444 from him. He is a love-him or hate-him teacher. I personally was more of a hate-him just for his teaching style, he only has one and it didn't agree with mine. He is very passoniate about his teaching material, just not my favorite teacher.

I had Koretsky for ChE 213, 312 and 444. He is an excellent teacher and explains abstract topics such as statistics and thermodynamics in ways that are easily understood. He gets much more fun during the thin films class as well.

Probably the best professor in the CBEE department. Either you will love him or not like him so much. Lots of hard work. Well worth the effort, I learned a LOT. Though it was a lot of work, it was by far my favorite class.

This was a great class. I learned a lot and had fun doing it. I put in a lot of work and felt I deserved a better grade than the B I got. But oh well, I still think Koretsky rocks.
