Comment:

Tough marker but understands that the material is difficult. Is willing to go the extra mile to help you out by giving you tons of study resources and helping you out during office hours. Be sure to study, but with a subject such as Japanese that goes without saying. Probably the most effort I've seen a professor put into a student.

At first, I thought she was one of those old Japanese teachers who stuck by the book and followed every grammar protocol but after getting to know her, she seems very passionate teaching Japanese... even going as far as to sit and speak with her students if they don't understand or they don't have an oral partner. Highly recommend!

She is really good. Course is intense. Lots of things to do. You will learn fast and a lot. But, she kind of gives students too much, so she has too much to do as well. You will not get your marks or results fast, sometimes just nothing back.

I have taken Japanese 1100 - 2200 so far and Seiko is defiantly worth taking. She is very thorough with her lectures and her classes are full of chances to reinforce your learning. Make sure to practice a lot as the Kanji really sneaks up on you quick. She is also super helpful if you meet with her during her office hours.

she is a nice lady, but she always doesn't explain things properly and the expectation are ridiculously high. She spends half of the class talking about culture stuff and she doesn't teach. she does not have a proper standard for her teaching either. she wants you to use Japanese manuscript for writing in mixed Japanese and English style.

Intermediate Japanese I. Lots of work to be done in this class but it's not overwhelming if you keep up. She's really cute and marks fairly easy. She also counts in your participation/effort if you're lacking in other areas.

Absolutely love her. She's a total sweetie, but nonetheless she won't let you off easy if you don't hand stuff in or participate. You have to keep up with the class or you'll fall behind easily.

Seiko Sensee is literally the best professor at KPU. She always keeps the class entertained as she teaches which makes me excited to show up for every class. Make sure you do consistently practice both speaking and memorization because the class is fast paced as it is a Language course. Take Seiko! You won't regret it!

Seiko is very nice and funny. The first semester was very easy for me, though the second is quite a bit more tough. Since it's a language you will HAVE to study to memorize vocabulary. She's a very easy marker in my experience. If I continue with Japanese, I will definitely keep her as my instructor for as long as possible.

Seiko is an amazing Japanese teacher. Her lectures are clear and she leaves room for class participation and understanding before moving on to the next part of the lesson. She gives great feedback and is very helpful as well. This is a language course so studying a lot outside of class is a must, but if you do so an A is definitely attainable.

She's funny and really cute, however for people who have no prior knowledge of Japanese - as those who take this class are supposed to have - it is almost impossible. She goes WAY too fast and doesn't explain things properly. There are like no notes, so you have to rely on yourself get through it. I like her, but I wouldn't want to learn from her.

An excellent teacher, but not for those that do not want to do a lot of homework. The homework really helps though, and this is definitely the class you should take if you want to REALLY improve your Japanese ability; I highly recommend her!
