Intro to Film Genres: this was certainly an interesting class that gave me grandiose and new perspectives into the history of films. Dr. Brown is a brilliant, funny, and very attractive teacher, who I wish I would've known about sooner. I enjoyed her class very much, and would recommend her to anyone for any class. Comment:

Wow, just wow! Dr. Brown is a truly amazing teacher! I was told my Freshman year that the best classes are the ones that you look forward to every week, and that your friends hear about constantly hear about, all while enriching your life. This is one of those classes. Her insights into film give me a new perspective whenever I go to the movies!

I really thought a Science Fiction Film class couldn't get "screwed-up"Boy was I wrong. I have never been force fed so much nonsensical opinion that we are to take for fact. She may be very intelligent and knows her stuff, but she is awful at explaining anything. She does not explain any of the film terms and just assumed everyone knew it all. Skip

Took her for English Comp in Film, loved her. Probably the best, if not one of the best teachers I've had at Pitt. Really helpful, at first her directions are hard to understand but if you participate and show interest she will love you and getting an A is a piece of cake. great class, I recommend taking anything with her.

Very good class. Although there are a lot of papers, there really isn't a grade, it's designed to help you learn. If you work hard and improve on each paper and volunteer in class she will take care of you. The class is very free flowing and there isn't a grade until the end. Definitely would recommend.

Probably the most soft spoken person that I've ever talked to. Follow her comments on your papers, they will better your grade next time around. Only problem was that I did know my grade all semester because she doesn't tell you on your papers. I ended with an A though and it was pretty easy to achieve.

Her lectures before each film were very interesting. I liked the class itself, but the papers were a little weird. The final prompt was too open-ended, and I was always nervous I was doing the wrong thing. 100 dollar book only used for midterm - buy used!

Great professor, really shows an interest in her students, and seeks to engage them in what they're most interested in. Her film selection was a bit repetitive, but she really has a lot of interesting things to say and knows how to engage the class well. If you have the chance, you should definitely take her.

MB was pretty nice..her work wasn't too hard- only maybe 5 papers? barely any reading, although the movie selection wasn't as great as I wanted it to be, she MB pulled through by extending deadlines and doing alot of group work

I love MB. I felt like I really connected with her and understood her love for movies. She is definitely one of my fav profs. You get of the class what you put in. I think she is an easy grader. Just do the stuff on time and find something passionate to write about. Oh, and volunteer.

I loved Molly and her class. She picks great films and loves class participation. The assignments are fair and fun to do. I really enjoyed all aspects, even reading the text book! I got a 99% overall and had fun doing it. Take her if you're a major/minor or just like films.

I've taking 2 classes with Molly, and both have been engaging, fun, and educational. She makes sure everything's clear, but she leaves it up to the students to discuss film rather than just lecturing. She's a great discussion leader, but never overpowering.

Film Analysis was awesome. Never missed a class and always enjoyed going. She is interesting, engaging, knows her stuff, and makes a 4 hour class go quickly. Not too much out of course work. Paying attention and getting involved are the main factors of succeeding. Highly reccomended.
