This class was great but the exams are super hard. If you don't say it in the right way you won't get the points. Make sure you listen carefully when he tells you how to structure your answers - it could change your grade exponentially if you don't. Other than that he is an awesome professor!

I have gotten a lot from his lectures and the books he assigns. The problem is that he has a very narrow and specific idea about what he wants from his exam questions, and even if you know the material, people often fail because they didn't say it in right way. what I would recommend is if you take his class listen carefully and take it seriously.

I was a quiet student and contrary to previous reviews, I still got a good grade and good feedback from Neal. Highly recommended for people who are genuinely interested in psychology from a Holistic perspective.

He can be nice depending on his mood and on the day. Everyone says he's amazing and hypes him up when in reality , he's not all that. He is very impatient and condescending with the students. Straight up rude at times. Honestly I find him fake, because he'll offend you and then smile at you.

Incredibly respectful and kind. I went through some hard times while in his class and he was incredibly caring and helped me get through the class. I've met with him outside of class and he is very invested in his students. Be open-minded - he won't tolerate rudeness in his class. Assignments are interesting, include lots of self reflection!

Neal is by far my favorite professor. I have taken a bunch of classes with him. He is incredibly smart and engaging. Here's what I would say... If you are super introverted and want to stay that way, maybe don't take his class. Participation in group discussion is key. This man has literally changed my life. Take at least ONE of his classes.

I really love Neal as a teacher and just as a friendly figure around campus, as well. His lectures and the reading may be kind of long, but life-changing and mind-opening! A very interesting class taught by a very interesting, fun man. Only wish the credit transferred, really. I highly recommend Neal AND Cross-Cultural Psych!

He's alright and knows the material. Materials are easy, heavy reading. Hard exams (no room for mistakes). To get an A you need to be part of the harem.

Although Neal offers interesting points of view in psychology, he has a tendency to favor extroverted students. He carries an air of self-importance that is off-putting. Many see him as a cult leader, don't drink the kool-aid.

He is essentially a cult leader. He likes you only if you're one of those students who speak a lot in class. If you're a quiet student, you're screwed.

What you put into this class is what you will get out of it. This class is challenging in a good way. Neal is fair and understanding. He holds himself to the same standards that he holds his students to. He is understanding that**** happens, but he's not stupid so don't abuse it. It is possible to fail his class, but you have to try to fail it.
