Comment:

Such a sweet old lady. I always felt bad she was still teaching tbh. I mostly tried to be respectful to her just to make things easy for her. She didn't understand electronics but tried so hard. Easy work to keep up with, easy grader, simple coursework, and easy to follow. Just so early in the morning hurt to go to class. Easy work, lot of reading

Comment:

Dr. Bailey is a very sweet woman and is very passionate about teaching. Do the work, and participate in class and you will be fine. Participation and showing up to class everyday is key, as she has strict attendance rules. But she does really care about the students and loves teaching. I would recommend taking and would take again.

... you honestly won't understand a thing in this class, she frankly doesn't even understand. She will get lost in the middle of class and expects you to read her mind. Tests are pretty easy but any papers forget about it!

She's a nice professor, but gives out so much work in class. You have to participate in class or else your grade will go down, and she calls on people unexpectedly. If you don't know the answer she might make a comment and be condescending. We read pretty interesting short stories and novels. Overall I'd recommend but only for english.

For an elective class Bailey's work load was far greater than any other elective. She's a horrible grader if she doesn't like you and trust me you'll know if she doesn't like you. She doesn't know what she wants on papers or assignments and will give you 50 page packets to read and answer questions on that she'll give the answers to next class.

There were 3 essays due in this class 2 were research essays. If she likes you you get a 90 or above and if she doesn't you can get as low as a 5/100 on a 6 page essay. Going to class was pointless. Homework was reading packets and answering questions but you don't need to do it because you go over it all in class next day. Tests were fairly easy

I would 100% recommend Norma Bailey. She is an amazing professor. I genuinely look forward to her class. I was nervous based on these reviews but she is my favorite professor at Salve. I am not an English major so this is in no way bias.

Exploring the Roaring '20s She's a sweetheart. Even though she may be incorrect at times, she's a great prof to have because it is obvious she enjoys teaching. Participate a lot in class & you'll do great (even if you're wrong, she usually twists answers to sound like you were right). A lot of reading/writing assignments, but it's a seminar class.

Worst teacher I have ever had in all of my teachers from high school and college combined. Incredibly disrespectful and grades only well for those she likes. I am a 3.9 student and barely will get a B for her course simply because she will not give you a good grade if she doesn't like you. Makes disrespectful comments. Don't do. You're welcome.

Very bad. Bailey is insensitive and thinks it's okay to slip prejudiced remarks into her lectures. She doesn't know what's going on in her own class half the time, and must be constantly corrected on what is going on in the books we are reading. She also plays favorites and will be rude and not give you any help if she decides she dislikes you.

Worst English I have ever had. Completely favors girls and the questions on her tests are completely irrelevant. She graded one of my essays based on her opinion and when I re-edited it, she gave me the same grade because i didn't make enough corrections. Boring and unfair class plus a lot of work for credits that won't transfer to another school.

Incredibly rude teacher. If you don't suck up to her she will make you feel like an idiot even when she is wrong. Forget about learning anything; she doesn't know literary devices even though she pretends to, and then makes fun of people when they don't know them. She doesn't know the answers to her own questions and grades based on who she likes.

Very nice lady! I saw her sassy side, but overall just a sweet teacher. I really liked her class and looked forward to it. She is very smart and is a great teacher. She always gives handouts for reaching which come in handy when its time for the tests! i recommend her class 100%.

Dr. Bailey is amazing. She is kind, passionate, and loves her subject. She is fair to all her students and the assignments are not hard, and she reviews them in class. I highly recommend this class to meet the English requirement. I actually looked forward to this class, which is an extreme rarity for me.

Counselor recommended this class & at first it sounded interesting BUT it's almost all poetry, yuck! Just know before you sign up. You break down & analyze poems. 2 tests that weren't hard & a 10 page research paper on scholars thoughts of a poem. 1 ppt of poem & final is ppt of your paper. Easy grader. Go to class, participate & you'll be fine.
