Comment:
If you take a class by Dr. Gentile before he retires, know a couple things, first, he's great, second, get started on your paper NOW. Almost every class he teaches, with the exception of a production class, will feature a 10 page research paper tied to an aspect of the class's subject, the sooner you get started, the better. Great teacher.

By far the coolest professor on the face of the planet. I have never had a professor I respected more. Take his class. You won't regret it. Dr. Gentile is a badass and he has a ridiculous amount of knowledge on film.

Dr. Gentile is a great professor. He presents the material in an understandable manner and clarifies the subject via discussion. I have had him for many courses and have enjoyed them all. His tests are challenging but not overly difficult if you put the time into the study guide. As for his production class, his standard is high, so work hard!

I loved this class. The movies were very interesting and he explained things really well. Go to class, study your notes and watch the movies and you'll be ok in his class.

Dr. Gentile's classes follow a standard form. 1 Midterm, 1 Paper, 1 Final. If you actually take the time to review, with the study guide he provides, you will succeed. The class was quite interesting and enjoyable (even though one may not have thought so since it was a Criticism and Theory course).

Somewhat demanding, especially when a paper is required, but his lecture is thorough. If you understand his lecture you will do well on exams. One of my favorite professors, even though I've never gotten an "A" in any of his classes.
