He is a great instructor and he knows his stuff. But his lectures are somewhat boring. Overall he is good is gr8 instructor. Probably the most easiest PS class i'v taken at CSUN. for my class we had one midterm and a final. Total of 4 essays are required to write. He gives u the option to write 3 at home and 1 in class.

His class requires a lot of reading. Close to maybe 1200 pages? His in class notes can be kinda helpful but are mainly from the books-yes books not book. He gives out supposed study guides but all they do is describe the format of the test (not what to study for). If you have to take him, make sure you ask for a lot of practice quizes. They help...

Students said this class was boring and I thought I could handle boring classes, but I was wrong. Hard class for a lvl 100. He focus alot on poli parties to refer to important figures. 1 miderm & 1 Final. No study guide and no questions come from actual reading the book. Be sure to know poli parties for the test. Easy class if you want a C.

His class is hard in concept, but he is really nice when it comes to grading. I was really bad at reading for this class, which is really what you need to do to get an A, but even with the bad notes, what little there were, I still got a B! So Take him, you will be pleasantly pleased

I loved Comparative Politics but I am a PoliSci major and I know most who take the class are not. I thought his presentation of the material was clear, as were his expectations of his students. He's very liberal and extremely informed. Be aware this class is reading intensive and requires A LOT of memorization, as well as mandatory attendance.

Well he wasn't bad. But he isn't great either. I did my own work and my own studying, outside of his notes. It took extra effort to understand the material because his own explanation are rather short. Don't expect everything out of the class notes. You need to actually read the book and understand it. I ended up getting a B+ in the class by some stroke of luck.

The guy below me is an idiot. I was in the same class, and if you expected economics to be erased from globalization, then you're delusional and have no idea what globalization is about. Riley knows what he's talking about and grades fairly. He's a good professor overall.

The worst prof I have had yet. The class is supposed to be the politics of globalization, he has made it the economics of globalization. It could be such an interesting class but he is so far out in left field. He is a great example why tenure sucks!

This is a truw chill class. You want to get an A take NOTES and do a little reading. Want to get a C, just come to class like once a week to be informed when the next test is. I got a C+ my friend got an A! Crazy curve where a D is a B. there is 1 (one) take home test.NO HOMEWORK(besides reading)

for my class, he gave 3 tests and for each test there is a choice of either a take home essay or an in-class essay. this is mainly a kick-back class, no homework. just do the readings, and try to stay awake when he lectures cuz he is boring!

Basically i went to class half da time. Never took the nylon cover of the book and passed with a C. His tests are pretty randon. I never figured out what to study but i didnt need to. He curves every test like 20% so a D is a B. He's a pretty funny guy, and hes very understanding. Great Teacher
