Professor Verdicchio is a wonderful person and excellent professor. He offers his students abstract/alternative perspectives on topics that expand your worldview. I learned a lot and had fun. Highly recommended.

He is an amazing professor and person. He has a lot of wisdom to offer and very positively impacts his students. He is extremely intelligent and at the same time is very easy going and approachable. He creates in his class an environment in which everyone's opinions are valued making his class a space where students learn from him and each other.

He didn't even show up the first three weeks of the quarter which was awesome. When he finally started coming, class was kind of a drag while he would talk about opening sequences but watching the movies was really fun and debating about it in class held my interest. Didn't really have time to get bored in just an hour a week.

Great teacher, really knowledgeable, easy class. Grade is based on four easy quizzes, participation, and attendance. Speak up in class, he likes having discussions. Movies are pretty boring but he goes over them scene-by-scene in the next class so that prepares you for the quiz.

i have taken verdicchio four times now and counting! he is the most personable italian professor you can get in america. he actually DISCUSSES all pertinent concepts in class, treats the students as equal (including their opinions), and is SO well rounded and knowledgeable about everything regarding italy, nature, film, history, america, etc. :)

PV is unique and helpful. He does not outline every facet of the class and thereby forces the student to think for himself. He is a kind man who exemplifies what a professor should be and I would highly recommend him to anyone interested in a college -level class that will inspire you to think for yourself. That is the point, right?

Easy class. Book not necessary. You watch a movie every week on Wed, and write a paper every other week. You only need to go to the movies you'll be writing a paper on. In lecture, he basically tells you everything he expects you to write in the 2 pg essay (which the TA grades SO easily.) He is entertaining, knowledgeable, and very approachable.

Uggh. The TA is a total b***h. His papers were vague, and the lectures were really unhelpful for the papers. Some of the films were good though. Thats about it. I wouldn't recommend the class at all.

His TA, which is apparantly always the same one is absolutely horrible. He isn't very clear at all and his lectures are unhelpful when trying to write his vague papers. If you have to take the class, take it. but if not... just stay away.
