Comment:

Honestly the best professor I had so far (not a physics major though so I can't compare him to the others in the department). Clear and passionate lectures, and lab work was always relevant, sometimes too long, but never boring. If you have a chance to take the class, don't let the 9 hour weekly commitment scare you, it's well worth it.

I had him for several different lecture and lab classes. Tjossem is the stereotypical nutty professor. He's hard to track down outside class, but always willing to explain things when you find him. An EXCELLENT lab instructor, since he designed most of them and really knows the setups.

Tjossem likes to go REALLY FAST during lecture. However, he's usually pretty good about providing a lot of different examples and couching things in terms that are understandable. He's willing to help after class as well.

I am not a physics person and I thought I would have a hard time with this class. I was considering dropping down to audit, but he wouldn't let me. He had confidence in me and helped me to succeed.
