Comment:

Dr.Bernstein was full of light.One of the only teachers to learn my name & one of the smartest people I've met. She liked joking with everyone & had a gentle heart. Her class was hard for me, but she helped me. I'm sure i annoyed her with all my questions & making up projects. She will be missed by many.

Her power points are boring, but if you take notes and go over the review sheet before exams you will do fine. Make sure you explain who, what, when, where, why and how for EVERY question. She is known for hacking points for little things, but does give partial credit! Very nice lady, always throws in a joke and sometimes a bird call.

I hate this class. It's always so boring, all she does is go over power points. Her exams are kind of difficult. Her exam guides say what's on the exam, but trying mildly obscure. Her class however is pretty easy. Take the risk, you might like her.

one of the best teachers at kent stark. it is obvious that penny loves her job and her students. she is extremely helpful and very clear with what she expects from her students. i took her for foundations & diversity--would recommend her class highly. (ps- never used the book)

Penny Bernstein was a great professor. She made Biological Diversity extremely easy. Taking notes (although boring) and asking questions in class cover all of the information. There is NO need for the book, thank goodness.

Dr. B is funny and exciting. I've enjoyed every class of her's. I do believe I've retained more info from her lessons than other teacher I've had at any Kent State class/campus. STUDY and give good presentations. (She likes to hear herself talk back in written form on the tests. So, take good notes and spare buying the book. :-)

Good professor. Tests are kinda hard since most questions are short answer. Just study a couple of days prior to taking the test. Lectures are interesting and other work is easy. Do good on presentations for they count for a significant portion of your grade

Very nice and supportive. Good sense of humor, handles class well. Somewhat unorganized, but gives ample opportunity for success. Basic subject, but did learn in a way to easily retain it. Recommend for LER for science. Pay attention, get an A.
