I had Doug 15 years ago. Both sad and happy that Doug has retired. Sad for the students that won't have him, and happy for all those that did. I was adult student going to school because my education didn't match my capability, so my career had stalled. Doug validated my intellect and gave me the confidence to thrive. I retired last year at 54

Had Washer for Psychology and Philosophy, as well as a social sciences class I had to drop due to illness. Best prof I've ever had. Fun, authentic, sincere, knowledgeable (I might even go as far as to say brilliant), invested in the student's success. Anybody who dogged him must have difficulty with critical thinking, because that's what you learn.

LOVED having washer as a teacher. He is easy to talk to and has very educational discussions in class which make the sunject seem more fun and easier to understand. Im really sad he is retiring he has been one of my favorite teachers :)

Very easy and very nice! Just do your work at the end of every 2 weeks. Which is not bad because its mostly your thoughts. And discuss issues we read about! Class was fast because you talk about anything adn everything. It could be a little boring...but he always did some kind of impression to keep us interested! Love it!!

He was a very interesting guy. Even though he did have some health issues and could not attend class sometimes (understandably) I did learn a lot from him. If you didn't learn anything in his class then the fact is you didn't put anything into it.

This was the most useless class I have ever taken. He goes off topic and waists valuble class time. He doesn't even show up most of the time. I would not recommend this to anyone who actually wants to earn their grade respectfully.

He is engaging and really funny. Great communicator. Really laid back. One thing I don't like is how much he expresses his personal opinions as if they are right and others are wrong. It's awkward for those who disagree with him on politics or religion. Also, he cancels class a LOT, usually at the last minute which is annoying.

Doug Washer was great. He was funny and interesting. He will do whatever it takes for you to do well. Even letting people redo parts of the essay that they did not understand to get a better grade. I took this class in 8 weeks and did not feel overwhelmed ever. There were only 2 assignments and one essay that counted as your final. Easy to succeed

This class was awesome. Took a hybrid course, which means half is on campus and half is online. It was awesome. He's very helpful and really wants everyone to succeed. Highly recommended. :)
