She grades on ATTITUDE. she is very rude when things dont go her way and puts on a smile to cover up her rudeness. She has favorites who she gives As and Fails those who she does not like. As for teaching, she Doesn't. she gives student chapter reports for every chapter and gives each student a different chapter so she does no teaching herself.

Sponsel is a terrible teacher. I can't even classify her as that b/c it would imply teaching. She didn't do anything. No teaching and merely wasted my money and time. I will never take a class from her again. My idea of an education is not teaching myself while the teacher twiddles her thumb. I can do that without paying the money.Bad teacher

She was really nice and the class was laid back. There were a few field trips, which was nice for students that aren't from Hawaii. We were allowed to be pretty creative with our final projects too. Overall I liked the class.

Comment:

She's one of my favorite professors at Chaminade. Always helpful and willing to meet with you outside of class. She's understanding, and very friendly. Easy to approach. I find students that dislike her are the ones that don't turn in assignments. She does require attendance, but excuses you if needed. Very passionate and well educated.

Useless. She is unprofessional and the class was a waste of time. It was a Zen Buddhism class; by the end of the semester, nobody could even define what Zen was, even though we had smart people there. That just shows how crappy a job she did. Just HORRIBLE. If you take her, make sure it's a class you'd be able to drop if you need to.

She was the worst professor I had in my college career. She is rude and criticizes students in front of the class. She also is inconsistent in returning papers(i.e. one student gets paper back a week later, another may get it back a month later). Does not follow syllabus at all! She seems to play favorites. One of the worst professors I have ever had. She is very rude and she has a tendency to criticize students individually out loud. She is not helpful when you need it, and the class seems as if it's all about her ideas and she does not welcome anyone else's. Very biased and inconsiderate. Might I add, she is very well a "feminist."

Avoid this instructor if you can, specifically if you are taking online courses. When you ask for guidance, her comments are normally condescending and unnecessarily rude. I grasped nothing from this course except how to stay within a word limit. (Ironically, her in-class instruction is the complete opposite! Not sure why.) Avoid her online!
