Comment:
Chun's Lectures take up the Whole class, no lectures as others do say. Yes it is taxing but the fact he knows his stuff, shows examples the whole class, and repeats helps me understand what he is trying to get us to know. He is VERY sarcastic both in his grading on assignments or in person but it is funny if you enjoy his humor.

Comment:
Mr. Chun has a militant personality and cares only about getting through his lecture content - which is hard to follow as he wanters and repeats himself a lot. Unapproachable if you have questions - chastising you for not understanding the material immediately. Don't expect helpful feedback, just confusing sarcasm or condescending remarks.

To start off, if you're a person who is easily intimidated I don not recommend you take this professor. Mr. Chun is extremely sarcastic towards his students, and really unapproachable if you need help. I recommend you just take really really good notes. Lectures are code samples, and those codes will REALLY help when it comes to lab and assignments

I took his CSCI14. He repeats himself a lot, wanders around instead of focus on the important points. In the schedule, it was about 1h30' for lecture and 1h30' for practicing but he talked the whole time, which was so exhausted.

Mr. Chun is an amazing professor. Very seldom do you find a professor understand the fundamental problems of students at Chabot. Professor Chun really understands that its not the university that matters but rather the career path that students take. I would strongly recommend to take his course and understand his message.

Good professor with clear grading. The syllabus tells you everything you need to study and when. Everything that's on the test was either in the lecture or in the book (more in the lecture though). Don't skip any classes. He'll help A LOT with homework during lectures too. As long as you show up and put in a little bit of effort, you'll be fine.

Took his summer class, he taught a lot of useful stuff. He also talked about how it's like after you transfer to a 4-year university or how it's like after graduation. He lectured even during the lab hours. It was quite an intense class, he tried to cover as much as he could. Easy grader, allow cheat notes, reasonable exams. I'd recommend him!

Complete all the homework on time, his quizzes are easier than the homework. He's also an easy grader, he only took 1 point out for the coding question I had no idea about. He has an interesting attitude, people don't like that, but I think that 's fine. I think he does that to let the students know about the real world after school.

Took him for 14 15 and 41. His style of teaching is really easy to understand. As a foundations teacher, he is a great canidate to choose. Expect a funny sarcastic guy who tells everything in a non sugarcoated pesimistic tone. Also make sure to pay attention to his lectures, and youll fly through his class easily.

Mr. Chun is a good teacher. If you take his class after two or three weeks, you will find out he is nice and helpful. In addition, If you want to get A, you must do all assignments and pay attention in class. I did not learn code stuff before, and I thought the class should be difficult, but he taught easy way, and now I can write some py.

This teacher repeats himself a lot, which gets exhausting. Find other ways of learning the material or you will get marked down for asking a question. He goes on about how bad Chabot is and he's better than the other CS teachers and he's preparing us for corporate America when none of that is true. Find another teacher because he's unapproachable!

It's hard to get used to the way he interacts with students. It's an easy class, make sure you attend every class meeting, whatever he taught during class is on the tests, he tells you the logics of all the homework assignments. As long as you pay attention, you will get an A easy Don't ask dumb questions unless you want to get your feelings hurt

Expect him to be the most sarcastic teacher. Prepare yourself to be lectured sarcastically whenever you ask him which gets funny if you get use to his way of talking. He checks attendance but openly admits he does not grade with it. Understand what you are doing and his class will be a breeze. Take notes. He expects you to listen but is not strict

He talks a lot. If you can try 2 record the class, cause you might wounder in thought when he starts going off about corporate America & how he takes a diff approach 2 teaching. So you can clear in some notes that you might have missed during class. Cause what he says is on the test. Do the all assignments, and you will pass

Chun is an amazing professor... not friend. His final, quizzes, assignments and labs are this that he has shown us in class. And he teaches us cs concepts in a way that we can see where we would apply it. He also gives feedback on ALL the code you turn in and it's actually helpful. Get past the sarcasm and learn a lot.

Ok, first off, I knew nothing about programming and Chun is not the person I would suggest for you CSCI and CENG Majors. I asked for help and all he said was, "Look on blackboard". He is SUPER sarcastic. He discouraged me and the other students. I would look into Keith Mehl instead of "Chun"... He even calls Chabot a peice of garbage. Dont take him

Comment:
My experience with Chun wasn't pleasant. He has this tendency to yell throughout the lecture and make very sarcastic remarks about the performance of the students, which personally isn't conducive for learning the material. I don't recommend him . If your logic isn't on point, the class will be hard. If you ask him a question, prepare to wait.

Comment:
Mr. Chun is very deliberate when getting his points across and tries to "coach" the class as if he is talking one on one with someone. At times, this allows us cool off time after an excruciating amount of information has been passed, which is the way I learn (and most). CS is hard, but Chun is the only CS teacher who has that kind of sympathy.

Comment:
Mr. Chun obviously cares passionately about CSCI and about education. He can be a bit harsh in lecture, but his sharp comments are to the whole class and to no one specifically. One on one he is a very nice guy and really goes above and beyond when trying to explain a concept. Take solid notes on presented code for assignments and tests.
