The first two weeks I missed but I knew there was something telling me to keep going and I did. Ron is such an amazing professor!! I also found out my therapist had him when she was at the school, LMAO. Anyway, she loved him too!! He gives AMAZING feedback and thoughtful comments. I struggle but there's just something that keeps me going!

The course I took was writing intensive so there was plenty of that but he puts a lot of time and care into making sure you understand the course material and the relevance to real world situations. He gives thorough feedback and makes his expectations clear.

Prof. Pine is awesome! He wants to make sure you understand what you're doing so if you're ever stuck, hes willing to work with you during his office hours. Don't fake it to make it because he can see right through the students who say they get it but really don't. Lots of reading! And offers extra credit.

Challenging, but rewarding. If you are not doing well, he'll let you know, but he'll also do anything he can to help you. You have to put the time in. Unless you are already very familiar with the content.

I'm very surprised that Pine is rated so highly here. I found him to be arrogant, verbose, and dismissive. His Phil 100 is for students with no prior experience with philosophy. Most of the reading will be his own lengthy, disorganized ramblings. Online forum consists of Pine making students feel that philosophy is beyond their understanding.

Exceptional educators are hard to come by, and Ron Pine is one of them. Ron has the exceptional ability to break down complex ideas into simple components using daily events and real life scenarios to explain how logic works. Great use of Laulima and its features. Ron provides continual encouragement and feedback. Also make sure to use the Mashups.

Really good and experienced teacher. I've never been good at math, but his feedback really helps with understanding concepts. Be sure to start on assignments ahead of time so that he can help you out before it's due. If you do all the work in a timely manner and be honest about what you understand and don't understand, you'll get an A by the end.

Professor Pine was a great professor. He genuinely cares for his students. He helps you as much as he can. He does summaries for the end of each lesson and has videos from his previous classes. A lot of reading material to help you. Read and follow directions, he constantly reminds the class because a lot of students don't follow directions.

Comment:
This course is challenging, because life is challenging and a philosophy course makes you think about your views on life. More so because you have to study alternatives that you may not want to hear about, because they make your afraid that what you believe may not be true. But overall I really got into this course and saw its relevanc.
