Hands down 10/10. If you complete the discussion boards and the final paper you'll definitely pass. He's chill and down to earth. It's college, don't expect professors to just pass you for nothing. He literally only grades you on two things that aren't hard to do. It's an easy grade so just follow instructions & you'll be fine.

I did this class by my own speed so naturally I crammed everything to the last 3 weeks. I was able to catch up by watching the lectures on my own time. Attendance isn't mandatory but preferred. The big essay at the end wasn't as bad as I thought. Reading was the hardest thing but I used the audio book to catch up.

Professor Chopra is a nice guy. He had us write weekly responses to the weekly reading which was 75% of the grade and a 7-page final paper which was the remaining 25%. If you pay attention to the lectures, and do your assignments you'll do well. His lectures can be very interesting some days and very boring on other days.

He is a great professor and is clearly passionate about philosophy. The class requires a lot of reading so be ready for that. There's not too much you're graded on - 3 papers and your participation, so be sure to give your all in those. The papers were fairly difficult, but if you show him a draft before its due, he always helps you to improve it.

Prof. Chopra is awesome! His lectures are very interesting and he's not too heavy on assignments. He assigns 3 papers that make up the majority of your grade. The papers aren't very difficult. Each paper is usually 4 pages max and are usually a critical analysis of an in-class reading or lecture. He isn't a tough grader and gives great feedback.

Lots of reading, very unclear instructions on papers, and does a poor job in explaining. I would not recommend him.

He's a good professor and knows his material. But get ready to read a lot. He expects class participation. He gives clear essay instruction and encourages you to show him a draft so you can revise it and get a good grade. But he is a tough grader.

WORST PROFESSOR EVER! I've never failed a class before but this professor is a hard grader. Expects you to fully comprehend book he barely discusses in class and write detailed papers. Participation does matter but only 4 people do it and they still do poorly on assignments. AVOID AT ALL COST!!

Hes a great professor on philosophy and his lectures are very interesting but you have to read a lot and work for an A on assignments, which isnt bad because he tells you how to make improvements.

Highest grade in the class for one of the assignments was a B. On top of that his politics always play a role in lecture. If you are looking for intellectual discussions do not take him. If you want to feed into the anti-police, anti-Israel ideology be my guest. If you find him using nonsequetors and convoluted logic to argue against you...

Comment:
Way too much writing and the amount of reading expected is ridiculous. His lectures are extremely heavy and to the point of him at times being the only speaker. He dominates the floor on many occasions to the detriment of participation. I would proceed with caution. Buyer beware!

Took him for pol phil and absolutely loved him! His class consists of sitting around a table and talking about the reading the whole time. You have to read for every class and I strongly encourage you to do it because not only are the readings super interesting but participation matters. He gave 6 essays at the end of the readings -2pgs each. Easy!

When he talks, you want to listen. He cares about you actually learning the material. I had him for Existentialism, and now I'm taking another class with him. He is a MUST take - you walk away having learned something(s).

One of the best professors I've had. Participation is very important in his class, as he doesn't give test (except for the final), so if you're not very talkative you probably shouldn't take his class, otherwise definitely take him.

Prof Chopra was perhaps the closest thing to what I would consider the perfect college professor; knowledgable, understanding, and funny. To do well in class be sure to read all assigned readings and take your time with assignments, he can tell when you don't.

He does a great job teaching the material and keeping the class engaged. He knows his stuff and very personable. IMHO he occasionally leaned a bit too much on group work, where things can get a bit messy but, overall, a very effective instructor.
