There are no study guides, no real notes are clarified to take besides the cycles and pictures drawn on the board. The tests aren't passed back or gone over for clarification, and there is no review for the test at all. Very cool guy, some awesome points made, but needs to prepare students better for tests and clarify material that's important!

Comment:

Dave Sheldon is a great guy. I always hated biology and never truly understood it, but he made it interesting for me. Most of all, his teachings stuck, I can remember things from the first exam even though it was last semester. People say he doesn't cover lots of material on the test (He does). Just take notes, study them, and you'll pass.

He was an alright professor.. I was looking forward to his class but became disappointed very quickly.. no dissection and he put lots of random facts on the tests making it 10x harder. barely passed and I studied my butt off. Would not recommend!

He is a once in a lifetime teacher. Unlike most teachers who will PowerPoint through the material. He was not afraid to take an entire day to explain the history of the lesson, to examine the men and women who gave their lives to learn these facts. The lessons are not important to him, the science is. The tests are random but all the info is there

Anyone who says that nothing on the test was covered in lecture did not pay attention in class. Sheldon doesn't even use the book - if you pay attention and take good notes, you will pass the class! If you don't get something, ASK! He WILL help you. He's a nice guy. Also he's fun, and he's the reason I rediscovered my love of biology.

I really disliked this teacher, he was not clear about anything he said and I would never recommend someone to take his class. Tests were extremely difficult and he didn't cover half the material that was on it. :(

This class was fairly easy, all the questions from the test came right from the lectures, the lab was easy. As long as you go over your notes before the test you should do pretty good, theres no need to buy the book, you wont use it.

I took Mr. Sheldon in the spring of '08. It was my first college class in 20 years. I worked hard and got a 97 for the class. He is a GREAT teacher! Absolutely clear in his teaching and what he expects from students. Tests were difficult but absolutely in line with what he taught. Funny and interesting - you won't be bored. Take his class!

Absolutely loved him! He is very passonate about what he teaches and is pretty funny.He made it easy to stay awake and alert in a 3 hour class. I thought that his tests matched the lectures perfectly. Everything you need to know is in his lectures, so attendance a must!! Pretty damn hot too.

He is a really nice guy. We didn't have to purchase a textbook for BIO195!Bio195 is different than most biology courses-it's Evolution, so we told him was was interesting to us, and he taught that. Very nice, super helpful. I wish I could have him for all of my BIO classes!

He's not that hard, people just dont put as much time into it as they should. Here's some advice, read the chapter prior to his lecture about it. Write down pretty much everything he says, and as long as you use pay attention, you shouldn't have a problem.
