Comment:

Prof. Garcia is very funny, but she is starting to lose her mind it seems. She makes lots of weird noises, says weird but funny things, and even set off her life alert in class on accident on 2 occasions. Failed her own quiz that she made. I got 3 answers correct on final but 0 points for those questions since I didn't use her method.

Comment:

Professor Garcia is a wonderful woman who really wants students to succeed. Unfortunately she just isn't a good teacher. She has a hard time communicating the contents of the course and while she welcomes questions, she never really answers them fully. Lessons always seem to run together, so it's difficult to pinpoint where you are struggling.

Professor Garcia rarely follows the material in the textbook, mostly teaching from memory. Get ready to crack open the textbook every night just so you can survive.

Really caring. Lectures are easy to follow if you pay attention. If you are confused she goes out of her way to make sure you understand. One of the most caring, hardworking professors I've ever had. Her disorganized appearance does not translate into her ability to teach and understand math. Highly recommend if you are willing to work.

The worst professor I've ever had. Teaches material incorrectly then refuses to give points back when you do things on tests the way she's taught. Failed her own quiz when we went over it in class, then she stopped going over things with us. Does weird yelling things when people yawn. I've asked for EI 3 times and she has yet to cooperate.

She is hilarious and a great lady. BUT She will destroy you when it comes to grading and has no problem failing you. I got the lowest grade in any class at the Academy in her CALC3 class. AVOID if you're not a top dog Math student... if you're good at Math then she is fun.

She is awful to have as a teacher. She is fun to be around as a person but lacks majority of the skills necessary to be a good teacher. She often rambles off topic, is rarely prepared for class, hard to understand and doesn't believe in extra credit. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

She is the worst professor I've ever had including all other schooling leading up to the Academy. She has trouble explaining things and does not come to class prepared. The tests, quizzes, and home works are poorly worded. A lot of times she doesn't even understand her own question. DO NOT TAKE A CLASS FROM THIS PROFESSOR.

She is nice, her heart is in the right place, and her big personality makes class more interesting. However, she is not a good teacher. Her tests are very hard and she gives little partial credit. Her lectures are confusing. Disorganized. She will go out of her way to give EI though, and her EI isn't bad. I don't recommend her though.

Wonderful person, she will try to do everything she can to help you but, unfortunately, she does not teach well and there is a tough language barrier. Neither of which she compensates for in test grades. The only thing harder to learn from than the textbook was professor Garcia.

If you want a good grade in calc III, avoid this teacher at all costs. Her english is broken and she consistently wastes half of almost every class period. Her quizzes are 35 percent of your grade and are almost always failed by the majority of the class. Run to the scheduling office ASAP if you get stuck with her.

By far the worst teach I've ever had, and thats saying a lot.. never prepared for class, consistently late, and impossible to understand. Almost ZERO partial credit and tests/quizzes which are much harder than examples. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

You will definitely have to teach yourself or find help. First half of the year was really easy. It was mostly review. Once into new material, class lectures are hard to follow. She doesnt come with a set lesson plan. She tends to ramble and is hard to understand most of the time.

Comment:

Although it is sometimes difficult to understand what she is trying to explain, she will repeat or try presenting a problem as many times as it takes until everyone understands. She really cares about her students and is always willing to meet for EI. I highly recommend her for DiffEq.
