Deff one of my favorite profs at Esu. I've had him for 3 online classes now and I always look forward to the courses. He doesn't overwhelm students with papers and assignments. Also his tests aren't too bad. He's understanding if you miss a paper due date or exam due to personal reasons. Would take again! Grades fairer than most other profs

Shive uses different types of teaching methods to help all of his students. He learned most of the names by the end of the course. He's a fair grader, always curves tests, tests can be difficult just study. Very nice guy, I wish i could take another course with him.

Shive is an amazing professor. He knows EVERYTHING he lectures about and includes personal experiences and stories to keep things in perspective and to keep things fun. Has minimal assignments so you need to do well on them. He's more than happy to help you inside or outside class. You will learn a ton of information taking this class.

He's a great teacher. He's very knowledgeable. I didn't even pay full attention in his classes and still remember almost everything he taught because his voice sticks in your head. Funny guy, great teacher. I would take all my classes with him if I could.

Dr. Shive is very straight forward! Must go to class because he takes attendance every class. He posts the notes online, but adds more during class. Study the notes and will do well on tests! His tests are specific, so it is important to know the material.. But he makes it easy to understand! Definitely take!!

Health Emergencies. Easiest class this semester. Written tests are the only thing he relies on for grades. No book, just notes. He goes off on unnecessary rants very often. If you were ever Basic First/Aid/CPR certified, you will do fine. Just show up and you'll get a B at minimum.

Dr. Shive is one of the best teachers and advisors i have had the opportunity to work with. If I end up being 1/4 of the teacher he is then i will be successful. His class is great and you really learn a lot. He treats everyone like equals. I wish that I could take more classes with him or have him as my supervisor for student teaching. Thanks!

He is a great teacher. He keeps you on your toes. His assignment takes a lot of time. But he walks you right through it. You always know how you are doing in the class because he will put you on web ct. I would recomend him to anyone. You will learn alot and enjoy the class at the same time.
