Susan is like if a hug were a professor. She is one of the most engaging professors i've ever encountered and definitely the most understanding/fair. Her lectures are well structured and she is so knowledgeable and excited about her work and students. everyone should take a class with her! you are guaranteed to get so much out of it

Susan is a lovely person and knowledgeable about her subject. I found her style of teaching very droning and sleepy. It was primarily powerpoints covering similar topics for a very extended period of time. If it were more engaging I would give her a higher score.

Comment:

I had Susan very briefly because I had to drop her class to meet another distributions requirement but during the time I had her she was very sweet and down to earth. She was genuinely sad to see me leave. Make sure to engage with her and participate in class.

Susan's sense of humor and great personality makes this class enjoyable even during at times the somewhat stale material and very intriguing during times of fascinating artistic cultural normalities. Makes sure tests are not too hard but you should still do the reading for the best results, offers extra credit oppurtunies too. Highly recommend.

Susan Aberth is the heart of the art history department. She is able to convey information in a way that is easy to comprehend without being demeaning. She is an easy A but does not appreciate it if you don't respect her or her class... so don't fall asleep. Really easy grader.

Susan Aberth is the most incredible teacher in the Art History Faculty at Bard College. I have never seen someone involved in so many activities. She teaches the most interesting classes and she teaches them with the greatest enthusiasm a student could ask for. what a treasure!!!

Susan had her moments, but she was also really disorganized--I feel like we really ended up wasting a lot of class time. The assignments were always vague, and she made it really difficult to figure out what she wanted or why she gave the grades she did. I would not take another class with her.
