really funny, but if you dont know much about the subject already you can get pretty lost. despite not knowing a lot about the subject you can still get an A bc he grades pretty easy. however if you know something about terrorism he is the person to talk to since he had hands on experience and is very knowledgeable.

Class is about SPSS prog. that's new to all, and he doesn't explain it very well, 2nd half of term gets difficult. Hard exams you are not prepared for. He uses only half of class time and says at the end, had he had more time he could teach the class better. Doesn't compare to UMDs other Pol Profs. I'd rather had it with Prof. Borquez for sure.

Great professor. Very knowledgeable about the subject and very down to earth. A ton of reading (I had him before and it seems it was only specific to this class) but good lectures. No text book but articles and reference books. I would recommend to anyone, even if you are not a poli-sci major.

Thrall is funny. He gives a lot of things to read -- and you have to both read and attend his lectures if you want to do well. The good news is that he's generally entertaining to listen to. And he's also helpful if you need to talk with him one on one.

polisci 300 sucks, but thrall made it so much easier! his instructions are crystal clear, posts everything up for you on c-tools (even the notes from class). HIGHLLY recommend.

AMAZING Professor. You need to make sure you at least skim the readings, and pay attention in class, because his tests are somewhat hard. As long as you do those things, you will do well in the class. He is enthusiastic and HILARIOUS, he made class so much fun, and it was so easy to learn in his class. I will definitely try and take him again.

Best class at umd. he is a great professor and keeps the class very interesting. Very unbiased and open to many viewpoints. His tests can be difficult, but if you do the readings they shouldnt give you to much trouble. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. ONE OF THE BEST PROFESSORS AT UM-D!!!

Prof Thrall is a great professor! I didn't have much of an interest in poli sci before I took this class, and I think that because of him I enjoy it more now. He makes lectures fun and entertaining and definitely knows his stuff. There's three tests and a paper. I would definitely recommend this professor and this class!

Thrall is a great teacher! I had NO interest, I was only taking this class because it sounded better than economics! He captured my attention the first day with his energy and great sense of humor and this quickly became my favorite class! He does a great job of seeming unbiased, I still don't know if he's DEM or GOP! I highly recommend him!

Nice guy, but exams are hard.I would take him again, but I would note the fact that the readings are an essiential component of P. Thrall's teaching style so whether or not you do them effects your grade. He teaches with powerpoint and fills the period with his lecture so very little time is left for discussion. He appears unbiased to me.

Amazing Professor. This class is somewhat difficult, but you will learn a lot. Thrall is very entertaining, and EXTREMELY helpful. His exams are hard and there is a lot of reading you will need to do, but he makes the class interesting. One of the best at UMD.

Trevor Thrall is incredibly disorganized and is a subjective, unfair grader. He does not explain assignments well at all, and his new syllabus for POL 101 is horrible. Tests are mostly essay, but far too much weight is given to the short multiple choice section. Thrall is not as nice as he first seems รข€" beware!

Pretty good professor. Entertaining lectures. His exams are essay format that are too long for the time allotted, and concentrate too much on vague theory, but he grades easily. My biggest complaint is the massive amount of reading he assigns. Its simply too much for a full time student.
