Comment:

Amazing professor, took the class Spring 2020. I would absolutely take his class again. I purchased the book, but wasn't necessary as his lectures pretty much summarized the book. Easy grader, and gives so much extra credit that you really can't fail as long as you listen to his class. He repeats himself a lot, so its kinda easy to retain the info.

Comment:

He was a really interesting professor and very clear and fair. He uses his notes more than the textbook so if you follow the notes you will do fine. He was very clear about what was on the tests. The paper was a little tough, but again the instructions were clear.

Comment:

Joyce is an amazing professor, highly recommend for CRJ101. His knowledge is a little out dated but he still goes over the foundational concepts of CJ. His tests are easy and he gives a crazy amount of extra credit based on if you remember things he spoke about in his lectures. He appreciates attentiveness and wants to see all students succeed

Comment:

One of the best professors in Bergen Community college. He's very caring and willing to work with you and help you. I recommend his class and wish he would teach every single subject in BCC honestly his class is an easy A but you have to study for the tests and pay attention in class. He gives a lot of notes and extra credit for the tests.

He's a historian so I recommend taking him if you're a history enthusiast as well as interested in criminal justice. He is very knowledgable about everything he lectures on and teaches from his experience as an officer. There are 3 exams (study guides given), 1 research paper, and 1 oral presentation. Have an A average and get exempt from last exam

Great professor and even better person! Cares about every student. I took his criminal justice class. Fair grader and hes just great at teaching. I learned more in his class than any other class Ive ever taking at Bergen. He knows how to teach without making the material boring. Im taking a different class with him next semester.

One of the best prof that I ever had!!! He's easy going and if you study his test review sheet, you pass it with 100. And if you pay attention in class, you get to asnwer the bonus quest on the test. Unfortunately he's retiring and this was his last class.

Only guy in the world that could make boring material interesting! He is truly there for you to learn and not for the money. He wants you to do well and does not want to trick you. The material is not exactly interesting to me, but he makes it a lot better. He seems to be a nice man and after several professors that disappointed me, he is a pleasant change. I will know more at the end of the semester, but at this point, I am glad to be in the class.

TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!!! He is awesome. Nice and you will understand and learn in his class. I register for a morning class and then had difficulty showing up. He let me go to his night class instead and he is just so understanding.

I had him a while back before I graduated and as I look back at all my professors, he was the best. He is one of the nicest people to walk in shoe leather. Not only smart but helpful and enjoys teaching.

He is an extremely pleasant man, and very intelligent. However, his class would be impossible without his study guides bc the tests cover more than whats in the book and what he discusses. He got sick towards the end of the semester and we had to take the final without a study guide. Everyone was totally lost.

Glad to see Prof. Joyce is getting such great ratings! I have taken EVERY class i can with him since i first had him! He is by far my favorite Teacher! Keeps you interested but isnt about to hold your hand through it! He is a great guy! I definitly reccomend him! Plus you'll love his trademark handle-bar mustashe!

Very interesting teacher. Class is incredibly easy. Three exams, study sheets with answers given week before. Two 5-7 papers about anything you want that relates to FedPolSci. Attendance a big deal. Has occasional anecdotes which are usually quite interesting, albeit oft repeated throughout course.

He was the best teacher that I ever had. He made it so interesting. Unlike too many teachers, he does not have an attitude that he is all knowing, although he is exceptionally smart. Take his class and you won't regret it.
