Comment:

Dr. Thieme has been one of my favorite professors at ASU! She cares a lot about her students, and is excellent about communicating! There are a lot of writing assignments of course, but she's not too tough of a grader. As long as you did well in ENG 101 you won't have any problems. I would love to take another course with her in the future!

Best professor! Clearly lays out expectations and grades papers easily as long as you follow the requirements and use proper grammar. I would recommend her to anyone, the papers you write are practical and will come in handy.

She is very caring and responds to emails for help or any concern. There is homework every week, but the homework is beneficial to you in the real world. She even took the time to one on one with our resume, which again is for your own benefit. I did not do 2 assignments which is why I got a C, but if you do them I am sure it is an easy B or A.

She was such a great professor. For every assignment there was usually a sample of exactly what she wanted. She would sometimes review your assignments personally after you submitted your rough draft which was so helpful because she was the one grading them and she wasn't a very strict grader either. I suck at writing and this class was a breeze.

Comment:

Dr. Thieme is the best English teacher I've ever met. She's professional and knowledgeable. The lectures and materials she gives are clear and helpful. She's a very nice and caring person. Go to her office hours to correct the mistakes before hand in your homework and you'll get solid full points. As a foreign student, I highly recommend her class.

Dr. Thieme is such a sweet person. Her ENG302 class isn't the easiest, there are weekly writing assignments and she is a really careful grader, but she would truly do anything to help her students get full points if they want to put in the work. I went to her office hours twice over the semester and it was so helpful! She is so supportive and kind!

Dr. Thieme is one of the best professors I have ever met! She is very responsible and patient, always willing to answer any of your questions. You can get a high score as long as you take your homework seriously. She has much homework, but they are easy. And there's a group project at the end of this semester. She is great! Don't miss!

Trust me, you will be less confident in english after taking her class. She seems nice to everyone in the class. However, she does not really care about what you are thinking, actually, lectures are not useful for your writing. And she always does not give you good grade for your paper even if you go to her office hours. Overall: tough grader!

Dr. Thieme is probably one of the best English professors at ASU. No book for this class, all reading is through Blackboard. If English is a second language, brush up on grammar and punctuation. She is a heavy grader in this area. Dr. Thieme cares about each and every student she teaches. She is frequently available outside of class.

Professor Thieme is an excellent professor who demands a lot from her students. Throughout the semester you be given mutiple documents you must create from scratch. She provide you with enough samples that would allow you to succeed. This is a course were you really need to work hard for an A.

Dr. Thieme is my favorite professor from my years at ASU. I took her class 2 years ago and I still will use my notes from her class when writing professionally. Most helpful, caring teacher I've ever had. Out of respect for her teaching, show up on time.

I took her class a couple years ago, and to this day I'm still using what I learned in her class. She's very straightforward and meticulously clear in what exactly makes writing good or bad. You will absolutely learn if you take her class, and she makes it enjoyable and relatively easy with effort.

This is possibly the best professor in the English department. She is so straightforward and she tells you exactly what she wants. If your writing is less than perfect, she will show you how to improve it. Yeah, you have to show up, and show up on time, but how else will you learn. Take her for sure!

super easy class. very generous in grading and helps make writing better. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK. have to send in rough draft writing online, but isn't graded. assignments are super easy and is willing to help outside of class. many short assignments, but can be done in less than 20 minutes. one big assignment at end, but can be done w/ group!
