Such a great professor. You can really tell he loves what he does. The lectures are pretty boring but he explains things in such great detail and makes sure that everyone understands the material. The homework is online and I recommend doing it. I got a B and not an A because I didn't do it. I'm taking him again next semester for chem102

Makes it more difficult than it needs to be. Lots of homework on the mastering chemistry website be prepared to spend a lot of time doing it, it's also worth a lot of points.

He used to be a chemist and it shows because he clearly knows his stuff. He's not the best at explaining things so you kind of have to teach yourself the material, but he is a very nice man and will like you if you seem interested in chemistry. Although he is useless on lab day and explains nothing. Would still recommend him!

The professor teaches the class way more difficult than it should be. Some of the information he was telling us in the class was not useful so not only did you study important information but you studied unimportant material ad well. Class was very boring and he speaks to us like fellow chemists who have taken this class 10 times, not like students

Professor Kennedy is very knowledgeable in the material. However his teaching skills lack tremendously. He does give you everything you need to know for the test in the study guides and during class but doesn't necessarily teach the material. Very hard to understand and tutoring is a must.

Horrible teacher. Does not explain the work well and does a bunch of extra stepd that are not necessary to complete the problems and by the end youre completely lost. Lab days you come into class and are on your own, he offers no instruction.

He is VERY MONOTONE and does all hand written notes. After days of hand written notes, you get a typed up version of what you wrote down for the past week. The tests and quizzes are based off of the assigned homework problems but if you struggle, you're on your own. I had tutoring and still felt lost from his teaching. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Very thorough, although a tad boring. The worst part is the departmental finals. Homework isn't required, but if you don't do it you'll get some bad surprises on tests.

Best teacher I have ever had. I was terrified to take Chemistry, but Mr. Kennedy explains things until you understand. I ended up loving chemisty! I have 54 credits at JJC and he, by far, is the best teacher I've had at JJC. Anyone who complains about him is simply not applying themselves. Mr Kennedy is a MUST take! Amazing teacher!

Worst teacher I have ever had. He is old and boring and rude. Chemistry is a hard class on it's own and with him teaching... good luck learning. He never let's you out early and more than half of my class leaves early.... if that's the kind of teacher you are looking for then I would recommend him... otherwise forget it.. take someone else!!

He is such a great teacher. If you learn quick, you will get bored, but I don't see how anyone could fall behind if you pay attention. He is GREAT at explaining things in the simplest terms to help you understand. He is also very patient and willing to help any way he can. I would def. recommend him.

Mr. Kennedy was easily one of the best professors I've ever had. He could be a little boring and he writes absolutely everything on the board, but he constantly refers back to what he writes. It makes things very organized. Tests and quizzes extremely easy if you study. He tells you exactly what to study. Can come off as mean but actually really nice
