She is very passionate about what she teaches, which is great. However, her tests were ridiculous because she words them very weird. You think it's one answer but it's another, kind of like tricking you. I did all the assignments, but the quizzes got me. Would not recommend.

There was a big disconnect between the professor and students. Since the class was online it was difficult to understand what she expected and wanted from assignments. She did not grade most assignments until the last day of class. Bad slides. Communication was minimal and alot of busy work. Material was interesting but would not take online again.

Extreme lack of communication & organization was both discouraging & disappointing. The way the course was set up online prevented me from wanting to learn more. Syllabus, coursework & grades delayed until 3 wks into a 5-wk course. Expectations unclear. No guidance or feedback to do discussions correctly.

Cancelled class a few times which was sad because it was only once a week but other than that it was an extremely interesting class. Dr. Bade has a great personality.

She is a very intellectual profession or so they say. I was in her class this semester but she needs to get her facts straight. Some of her "history" lectures are inaccurate, more specifically her lecture regarding the indigenous people. Not every collective group has a religious belief that correlates to God.

Dr. Bade is amazing, details everything in her lectures and seems to be passionate about the subject. Grades arent uploaded straight away, which was the only downside. Shes caring and will actually take the time to talk to you. Assignments were easy enough! My class was 3 hours so it was straining but enjoyable.

Dr. Bade is a real gem! I took this class not knowing anything about ancient Mesoamerica and left LOVING it. Definitely take this class - she has a plethora of knowledge. Her passion for the topic really engages you, and it will be the surprise class that you love in your semester. It was a much needed "fun" class among my tedious major courses.

Bade was one of the best professors Ive taken at CSUSM. She makes the class really interesting whether you like anthropology or not! We had two short papers, one ethnographic paper, and two tests which were both online! She doesnt take attendance but in order to do well on the tests you need to show up to her lectures. Fairly easy class.

Tells it like it is. Hard if you're not willing to put in the work, but I would still recommend her. She just wants to make sure you understand the course material. Tests/Quizzes online (which means a cancelled class & you can use your notes). Doesn't take attendance but if you miss you loose a lot of information. Lectures aren't boring.

Nice funny lady. Class wasn't hard but a little confusing when it came to assignments. Come to class and you'll get what you need to know. Don't wait until the last minute to do forums and reports and you'll be fine.

Definitely has a lot of experience in the field to share and I learned a lot about other cultures' medical practices. Go to lecture to know what to expect for the exams. Very loose on keeping track of assignments. Read one the required books and she didn't even post an assignment for it. Also wrote 10 one page assignments, to which she didn't read.

Tough professor, however, she means well... she wants you to learn. We had to learn to read the Codex Nuttall. Her exams are somewhat tricky but if you attend class, you'll do well on the exams. She offers extra credit so be sure to do that!

Class was very interesting but took a lot to understand all of the concepts. I learned a lot and have a whole new respect for medicinal anthropology and a lack of respect for a lot of western medicine. Midterm and final were really difficult, a lot of info is required. Assignments were easy but VERY time consuming and annoying. Overall decent class
